Saturday’s matchup in the Bay features two reassuring pitching situations and two slumping lineups in a pitcher’s park.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will use Shohei Ohtani (1.50 ERA and 1.58 FIP) as an opener, followed by Emmet Sheehan (2.00 ERA and 1.20 FIP).
Sheehan is an impressive youngster who posted an elite .186 xBA (98th percentile) in his MLB debut in 2023 across a notable sample size (60 ⅓ IP).
The 25-year-old only has two starts under his belt this year after returning from Tommy John, but he’s looked electric and has superb underlying metrics (15.9% swinging strike rate, 4.0% barrel rate).
