The Milwaukee Brewers welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers for Game 2 of their three-game set at American Family Field.

Oddsmakers have the Dodgers as slight road favorites at -118, with the total pegged at 8.5 runs.

For tonight’s Dodgers vs. Brewers predictions, the value lies with the home team in this key National League showdown.

Read on for my MLB picks for Tuesday, July 8.

My Dodgers vs Brewers best bet: Brewers moneyline (+100 at FanDuel)

Milwaukee Brewers SP Jacob Misiorowski takes the mound as he looks to strengthen his case in the National League Rookie of the Year odds. He’s been stellar thus far, posting a 3-1 record with a 3.20 ERA and 0.92 WHIP through his first four starts.

His underlying metrics are even more impressive. Entering this matchup, Misiorowski boasts a 2.46 expected ERA (xERA) and a .172 expected batting average (xBA), two of the best marks in baseball.

He certainly faces a significant challenge against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the good news for him is that the Brewers could provide solid run support against Clayton Kershaw. While Kershaw has produced strong surface-level stats, his analytics suggest that regression may be on the horizon.

Despite a 4-0 record and a 3.43 ERA, the veteran left-hander owns a 4.18 xERA and ranks in the 24th percentile in xBA, third percentile in average exit velocity, and fourth percentile in hard-hit rate.

Additionally, the Brewers have a strong track record against Kershaw.

Through 72 combined plate appearances against the future Hall of Famer, this current Milwaukee roster boasts a .477 slugging percentage and a .451 expected slugging percentage.

Back Misiorowski and Milwaukee at a fair price.

Dodgers vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)

Brewers moneyline

Clayton Kershaw Under 3.5 strikeouts

Jacob Misiorowski Over 5.5 strikeouts

If the Brewers hit Kershaw well again, it’s unlikely he stays in the game long enough to surpass his strikeout prop.

That’s been a struggle for him this season, as he ranks in the 20th percentile in chase rate and 18th percentile in strikeout rate.

The opposite is true for Misiorowski, who has posted an impressive 28.4% strikeout rate, a mark well above the league average.
