The Chicago Cubs bats have been relatively silent during this series and are in danger of a series sweep when they meet NL Central rival Cincinnati Reds for Game 4 of this four-game set.
The Cubs are slight favorites on the MLB odds board and my Cubs vs. Reds predictions and MLB picks suggest Chicago's bats could see some positive regression.

My analysis
The Chicago Cubs have scored nine runs and are batting .153 (4-26) with runners in scoring position (RISP) through the first three games of this NL Central division series with the Cincinnati Reds.
Montas is coming off a brilliant start against the Rockies. The 31-year-old righty spun a 1-hit shutout across seven frames at Coors Field with his four-pitch assortment of fastballs.
Montas can be hit-or-miss on a four-pitch arsenal of heaters without much heat. He serves up more flyballs and line drives than he does groundballs. The Reds righty doesn’t have a great command (3.33 walks per nine) of those pitches; he induces the worst weak hit rate of his career and batters are barreling up 46% of his offerings.
That could lead to a big day for a Cubs offense that needs one. They’ve been miserable during this series with RISP, but Montas boasts a 4.56 xFIP and he’s spinning nearly 3.5 walks per nine. Montas has cleared his outs number in just four of his past 10 starts and the wind and the Cubs bats won’t improve that.

Cubs vs Reds same-game parlay (SGP)
My best bet means Montas will likely struggle to get whiffs. The Cubs have a high strikeout rate against righties but the Reds righty has cleared his strikeout number only once across his last five.
The wind will cause trouble for both starters. Montas will likely get an early hook and Cubs starter Shota Imanaga has shown signs of regression. The Cincy bats have boomed during this series and Imanaga has coughed up three bombs and eight earned runs across his past 8 2/3 frames.
