The Chicago Cubs are on the verge of a series sweep when they meet the Milwaukee Brewers for Game 3 of their three-game series.

Shota Imanaga has allowed one earned run in his last 17 away innings, and my Cubs vs. Brewers predictions expect him and Chicago to pull out the brooms today.

Read on for my MLB picks for Sunday, May 4.

Cubs vs Brewers prediction

My Cubs vs Brewers best bet: Cubs moneyline (-110 at Caesars)

The Chicago Cubs have scored 16 runs through the first two games of this series. Scoring runs is what the Cubs do, as they’ve tallied the most in baseball (202) and have eight or more in three of their previous five.

Freddy Peralta has been their nemesis. The Milwaukee Brewers' righty has held this Cubs lineup to a .171/.271/.342 slash line with 42 punchouts across 117 career at bats.

That will make scoring runs tough, but they may not need many to win, as they’ll send lefty Shota Imanaga to the mound against an inconsistent Brewers lineup.

Imanaga won’t blow the Brew Crew away, but he hits his spots, boasts a solid slider/sweeper combo, and has allowed only one earned run in 17 away frames this season.

Milwaukee has plated only two runs in its last three contests. Imanaga and his off-speed stuff have troubled the Brewers, and he’ll likely trouble them again today.

The Cubs have a solid edge in the bullpen, and with runs likely coming at a premium, I’ll bet on the combination of Imanaga’s arm, the Chicago bats, and its bullpen to pull off the series sweep today.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Cubs vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)

Cubs moneyline

Jon Berti 1+ hit

Under 7.5

Four of the last five meetings have ended Under the number. The Brewers' bats have been ice cold, and Peralta has dominated the Cubs' present lineup.

One Cub Peralta hasn’t dominated is Jon Berti. He’s 3-for-5 with a double and one bomb and has hit safely in five of his previous six games.
