Kevin Gausman has his swagger back, and a strong history against his old club makes him my top play in San Francisco.

The Toronto Blue Jays head to San Francisco with their bats in a deep freeze, shut out in two of their last three games, but they hand the ball to a surging Kevin Gausman against the San Francisco Giants and Landen Roupp.

Gausman’s track record against his former team is the backbone of my card on Monday. Read on for my Blue Jays vs. Giants predictions and MLB picks for this Monday, July 6 matchup.

Blue Jays vs Giants predictions

Blue Jays vs Giants best bet: Kevin Gausman Over 5.5 strikeouts (+100)

I believe Kevin Gausman has his swagger back. The veteran right-hander battled diminished velocity earlier this season and got hit hard for it, but his last outing against the Rangers (6 IP, 1 ER, 7 Ks) looked more like the ace status he's capable of.

The crux of this pick is how Gausman has handled the San Francisco Giants over the years. In four career starts against San Francisco, he owns a 3.13 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 23 innings.

On top of that, this Giants lineup has struck out an average of 10 times over its last three games, so Gausman may find the punchouts even easier than usual. I’d play this bet to -110.

Covers COVERS INTEL: In four career starts against the Giants, Kevin Gausman has worked into the sixth inning, clearing 5.5 strikeouts in three of those games.

Blue Jays vs Giants same-game parlay (SGP)

I’ll start with the Toronto Blue Jays moneyline, where I trust Gausman to keep San Francisco’s slumping offense down and give Toronto’s bats enough room to snap out of it.

That leads into my second leg, Gausman Under 2.5 earned runs, backed by his 3.13 ERA in four career starts at the Giants’ expense.

Finally, I go with Kazuma Okamoto Over 1.5 total bases. Toronto’s top power bat draws a great matchup against Landen Roupp, which I break down below.

Blue Jays vs Giants home run pick: Kazuma Okamoto (+450)

While this Blue Jays offense hasn’t been clubbing homers lately, Okamoto is my home run bet today. He’s still Toronto’s biggest power threat with 19 long balls, and I love how he lines up against Giants starter Landen Roupp.

Roupp leans on a solid curveball, but his fastball is hittable, with opponents batting .271 and slugging .475 against it. That’s juicy for Okamoto, who has slugged .486 off fastballs this year, with 12 of his 19 homers coming on the pitch

When Roupp leaves a heater over the plate on Monday, Okamoto is the guy to make him pay. I’d play this prop down to +400 and keep it to a quarter unit.
