The vibes in The Six are amazing right now, and it’s all because the Toronto Blue Jays have won eight in a row and built a three-game lead in the American League East.

However, Toronto can’t overlook anyone, including the Chicago White Sox. It wasn’t that long ago when the White Sox took a series from the Jays. Now, Toronto looks to exact some revenge when it opens a series in Chicago on Monday night.

My Blue Jays predictions and MLB picks break down why starting pitching will be the difference between these AL teams.

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Jose shows the pale hose no mercy

Blue Jays -1.5 (-105 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays keep winning. They win with home runs. They win with small ball. They win with pitching. They just win. And it’s been a lot of fun.

But it’s a long season, and they can’t look past a team like the 30-win Chicago White Sox. The same White Sox team that took two of three from the Blue Jays back at the end of June.

That said, the starting pitching is a little more settled now and should give the Jays a big edge in this series, starting Monday night when they hand the ball to Jose Berrios.

Berrios is coming off a weird start against the New York Yankees. The Jays gave him an 8-0 lead early, and he was cruising through four before the wheels fell off and the Yankees put up six runs in the fifth and knocked Berrios out of the game.

Generally, Berrios has been Toronto’s most reliable starter, holding opponents to three earned runs or fewer in 13 of his 18 starts, including holding this White Sox lineup to one unearned run on two hits over 7 2/3 innings back on June 21.

It’s been a tough go for Chicago who ranks dead last in batting average and OPS vs. right-handed pitching.

Meanwhile, the White Sox counter Berrios with rookie Sean Burke. The 25-year-old right-hander ranks in the 11th percentile in expected ERA and has to face a Blue Jays lineup that can beat you in a variety of ways.

Since May 28, the Blue Jays rank second in baseball in batting average, OPS, and wRC+.

Not only do they extend their winning streak to nine tonight, they do it by multiple runs.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Blue Jays -1.5

Josh Rojas Under 0.5 Hits

George Springer Over 1.5 Total Bases

One White Sox player who won’t be looking forward to seeing Berrios is Josh Rojas. The Chicago infielder is hitting just .178 this season and has terrible career numbers vs. the Jays’ starter.

Rojas is 0-for-7 with five strikeouts in his career vs. Berrios. So, let’s take Under 0.5 hits for him in tonight’s same-game parlay.

We’ve got to keep riding this George Springer until it officially cools off. The Blue Jays outfielder is one of the hottest hitters in baseball and now has some All-Star snub motivation to boot.

Springer is hitting .438 with a 1.313 OPS with six home runs and 21 RBIs over his last 12 games. Add Over 1.5 total bases for Springer to this SGP.

A Journalism School grad from Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI, Andrew previously worked at The Chronicle Herald and Star Metro, but knew in his heart that his future lay in sports. He began at Covers as a news editor and has now done everything under the sun when it comes to content. His work has been seen on TSN, Sportsnet, VSiN, and CBS. These days Andrew's betting expertise is focused on his favorite teams; the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors. He's also an avid college football fan and bettor. He can't be friends with you if you don't appreciate a Service Academy Under. The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It's not an interesting story. Seriously.
