Blue Jays Picks, Predictions & Best Bets vs the Rockies for August 6

Outside of a couple really bad outings, Kevin Gausman has remained a positive fixture in the Blue Jays rotation. He'll rise to the challenge this afternoon against a Rockies lineup that has flailed vs. RHP in 2025.

The Toronto Blue Jays will try to sweep away the Colorado Rockies when they close out their three-game set at Coors Field this afternoon.

Toronto’s bats have been booming through the first two games, scoring 25 runs while going deep eight times.

However, my Blue Jays predictions and MLB picks like the pitching to make its mark in the finale with Kevin Gausman on the bump on Wednesday, August 6.

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: The Gausman pitcheth

Kevin Gausman to record a win (+110 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays hand the ball to Kevin Gausman, and I love his chances of putting on a good performance this afternoon.

Gausman is coming off a tough outing against the Kansas City Royals, where he surrendered five runs on six hits, but the 34-year-old right-hander was going through a really strong stretch of baseball just before that.

The Blue Jays starter was pitching to a 1.96 ERA and had struck out 38 batters in 36 2/3 innings prior to that start against KC. And he’s been solid overall this season, with just a few clunkers along the way.

I’m hopeful that he avoids one of those today against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies have been a much more productive offense in the second half, but they still have the sixth-worst batting average and OPS when facing right-handed pitching this season.

Countering Gausman is veteran lefty Kyle Freeland. Talk about a guy who needs a change of scenery. His expected ERA is in the Bottom 10% among MLB pitchers, and his expected opponent batting average is in the Bottom 1%. Yikes.

The Jays have the third-highest batting average and the sixth-highest OPS vs. southpaws this season and have been mashing at Coors. They’ll stake Gausman to a lead, and he’ll carry them long enough to earn the win today.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Kevin Gausman to record a win

Kevin Gasuman Under 5.5 hits allowed

Ernie Clement Over 0.5 RBI

Let’s double down on a good day for Gausman by adding Under 5.5 hits allowed to this same-game parlay.

As noted, the Rockies don’t hit right-handers well, and opponents are hitting just .214 vs. Gausman over his last 13 starts. He’s held opponents Under 5.5 hits eight times during that stretch, including three of the last four overall.

And we’ve got to add a leg that involves Ernie Clement when a lefty is involved. Clement has mashed southpaws this season to the tune of a .346 average and a .939 OPS. Additionally, only Vladdy and Bo have driven in more runs vs. LHP this season.
