While the Astros are riding the longest active NRFI streak, they're in a good spot to snap out of it against the White Sox and righty Shane Smith.

NRFI/YRFI bets for June 10

Reds at Guardians: NRFI (-118 at ProphetX)

The Cleveland Guardians are riding a 5-game NRFI streak that’s helped propel them to the second-most in baseball.

They’re hosting the Cincinnati Reds, who rank inside baseball’s Top 10 in NRFIs and have seen a scoreless first inning on the road in 20 of 33 games.

This will be the fifth game between the two teams this season, and there hasn’t been a run scored in the first inning in the previous four.

Guardians SP Slade Cecconi has seen just one YRFI in his four starts this year, while his counterpart, Andrew Abbott, has only seen a first-inning run plate in two of seven starts since May 1.

Yankees at Royals: YRFI  (+112 at ProphetX)

The New York Yankees have seen the most YRFIs in the bigs, hitting at a 39.06% clip. They’re up against the stingiest NRFI team in baseball, as the Kansas City Royals have had a scoreless first inning in 43 of 66 games this season (65%).

Though he has an NRFI in his previous start vs. the Royals this season, MLB wins leader Max Fried (8-1) has seen a run scored in three of his last four starts.

Opponent Noah Cameron will be making his sixth start, and he’s got a microscopic 0.85 ERA on the season. He hasn’t allowed a first-inning run, but his team has gotten him early run support in three of his previous five starts.

Despite the Royals seeing an NRFI in 23 of 32 home games on the year, I like the chances of a YRFI Tuesday. The potent Yankees offense, KC's support of Cameron, and plus-money odds make it all the more appealing.

White Sox at Astros: YRFI (+109 at ProphetX)

The Houston Astros have the current longest NRFI streak at six, hosting a Chicago White Sox team that has seen a scoreless first inning in six of its last 10 games.

Chicago righty Shane Smith is coming off a scoreless 5 1/3 innings last time out in a win over the Tigers.

However, a first-inning run has been scored in four of his last five starts, three from his own team.

Lance McCullers Jr. gets the nod for Houston, and he’s coming off a scoreless 2-hit gem over six innings in a win over Pittsburgh. His overall numbers haven't reflected that kind of top-shelf performance, though.

The Astros' streak will end here. The Sox have seen a YRFI in 18 of 32 road games, while Houston has a 19-15 YRFI record at home.
