The Houston Astros come into today’s contest on a three-game win streak and with victories in seven of their last nine as they look to complete the sweep over the Baltimore Orioles this afternoon.

Houston has scored 15 runs against Baltimore through the first two meetings of the series with Kyle Tucker recording an eye-popping seven RBI in those contests.

Can Tucker and the Astros stay hot at the plate today? We’ll discuss in our Astros vs. Orioles MLB betting picks for Thursday, August 10.

Astros vs Orioles odds

Astros vs Orioles predictions

The Houston Astros cruised to an easy win on Wednesday as they defeated the Baltimore Orioles 8-2 courtesy of a three-hit, three-RBI game from Jose Altuve as well as two RBI from both Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker.

Houston has now scored 7+ runs in three straight outings, averaging 8.00 runs per game over that span. They’ve particularly enjoyed running up the score against Baltimore in recent meetings as the Astros have tallied 32 total runs during their current four-game win streak vs the Orioles.

The Astros will be facing Dean Kremer, who owns a lofty 4.61 ERA but has turned things around since July. The right-hander posted a 3.45 ERA over five starts last month and gave up just two earned runs in his first appearance of August. Kremer’s xERA sits at 5.43, though, so we could see his fortunes turn against the high-flying Astros.

Tucker has been on an absolute tear with two home runs and seven RBI over his last two games as well as a team-high 10 RBI over the past week. The right fielder should help Houston run up the score once again.

My best bet: Astros team total Over 4.5 (-135 at DraftKings)

Astros vs Orioles same-game parlay

Astros TT Over 4.5 (-135)

Kyle Tucker to record an RBI (+145)

Jose Altuve to record 2+ total bases (-110)

Along with the Astros cashing the Over on 4.5 runs, we’ll focus on a couple of hot hitters for Houston to round out today’s same-game parlay.

As mentioned, Tucker has been on fire with 10 RBI in his last six outings but the streak extends to the All-Star break. The Astros slugger has 28 RBI in 24 games since the break, tied for the most in baseball over that span. There’s a good chance he will drive in another run today.

Finally, we’ll look for Altuve to keep up his own hot streak as the Astros leadoff man enters play on an 11-game hit streak. Altuve has recorded 2+ total bases in six of those contests and will have a decent shot at doing so again vs. Kremer.

Astros vs Orioles moneyline and Over/Under analysis

The Astros opened as the road favorite at -112 on the moneyline and jumped up as high as -133 by Thursday morning. The Orioles have not been swept in 75 consecutive series but I foresee that streak ending today.

Along with a hot offense led by Tucker, the Astros should also have an advantage on the mound with Hunter Brown, whose 4.07 ERA and 3.92 xERA give him the edge over Kremer. Houston has also won four straight meetings vs. Baltimore and five of the last seven.

Today’s total is set at 9.5 runs and with the Astros swinging the bats so well, I’m going to take the Over. Four of Houston’s last five games have featured at least 10 runs while that number is the same for Baltimore. Meanwhile, the Over is 4-0 in the last four meetings between the clubs.

Starting pitchers

Hunter Brown (8-7, 4.07 ERA): Brown rebounded in his last start after a rough month of July, holding the Yankees to five hits and two earned runs over six innings on August 4. The right-hander has held opponents to two earned runs in three straight contests but was rocked for 4+ earned runs twice in July.

Dean Kremer (10-4, 4.61 ERA): Kremer was decent last time out, scattering two hits and two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings against the Mets on August 4. The right-hander has had a habit of getting pulled early, though, as he hasn’t pitched through the fifth inning in three of his last seven starts.
