Software development company Tecpinion released a new report examining the U.S. sweepstakes market, including regulation, payments, technology, and potential growth through 2030.
Key Takeaways
Tecpinion’s report examines regulation, technology, payments, and consumer spending across the U.S. sweepstakes market.
Regulatory uncertainty, rising costs, payment restrictions, and bonus abuse could limit market growth.
The report outlines four possible scenarios for the sweepstakes market through 2030.
The report, titled “Sweepstakes Industry Analysis 2026: Market Dynamics, Trends & Forecast,” divides the sector into five categories: promotional sweepstakes, social casinos, online sweepstakes casinos, prize-based gaming, and B2B sweepstakes technology.
The report examines 12 states and draws on 21 industry, regulatory, standards, and company sources.
One of the report’s key findings is that there is no single established market-size figure for the U.S. sweepstakes market because estimates cover different parts of the industry.
The report points to Louisiana’s new restrictions as an example of how operators may have to adjust when states impose clearer rules on sweepstakes casino gaming. It also examines Nevada and Michigan, where established gambling rules create additional considerations for sweepstakes operators.
Tecpinion says greater mobile use, wider game availability, consumer familiarity, and personalization could help the market grow. It adds that regulatory uncertainty, rising customer acquisition costs, payment restrictions, and bonus abuse could limit that growth.
For its 2026-2030 outlook, Tecpinion presents four possible scenarios instead of a single forecast: professionalization, high growth, regulatory constraint, and technology-driven growth.
“We believe informed industries grow stronger. By sharing our research and observations, we hope to contribute to a clearer understanding of the opportunities and challenges shaping the sweepstakes ecosystem,” cofounder and chief sales and marketing officer Manoj Trivedi said.

With a background in marketing and business development at some of the biggest names in gambling tech, Ziv knows the industry from the inside out. Since joining Covers, he's turned his sharp eye (and sharper keyboard) toward everything happening in the fast-moving world of online gambling. Whether it's new state launches, the latest twists in regulation, or what the big operators and game providers are cooking up next, Ziv breaks it all down with clarity, context, and just the right amount of snark. He covers the business side of betting, from affiliate trends and revenue reports to the tech powering your favorite slots. His motto in writing is “let’s make it make sense without putting you to sleep.”
When he’s not tracking gambling legislation or looking for the next breaking story, Ziv is living and dying with every pitch and play from his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. As a Pitt graduate, it’s a city loyalty forged in heartbreak, but one he wouldn’t trade for anything, except maybe a few more playoff wins.
When away from the keyboard, Ziv loves to hit the road and soak up the energy of casinos. Whether strolling the neon jungle called the Vegas Strip, or wandering into a smoky riverboat casino in the Midwest, Ziv’s in his element. He’s the guy chatting with players, blackjack dealers, and asking pit bosses way too many questions, all in the name of “research,” of course. The casino floor isn’t just his workplace, it’s a weird and wonderful ecosystem of flashing lights, wild characters, and pure sensory overload, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
