The online sportsbook and popular Las Vegas hotel casino has received a sports betting operator license from the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG), the state regulator announced on Monday.

Arizona requires operators to partner with pro sports teams/venues or tribal nations, so Circa obtained its license through Arizona’s San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe, making the operator the state’s 13th licensed online sportsbook.
No launch date has been announced, but the ADG said it will begin working with Circa Sports on the next steps toward going live.

The Grand Canyon State, which can have up to 20 online sportsbooks, decided to look for new operators and opened the licensing application process from June 27 through July 10. Circa Sports was approved on July 27.
The ADG said that it will also add at least one sports betting operator with a pro team partnership and could bring in others through tribal agreements. The state has had multiple sports betting operators leave over the last couple of years.
Arizona legalized sports betting in 2021 and has generated more than $35 billion in wagers since then. The state has made over $190 million in tax revenue from online sportsbooks, the ADG said.
Extra competition
This will be the seventh U.S. state for Circa Sports’ online product, which last launched in a new jurisdiction when Missouri went live in December 2025. Circa’s online sportsbook is also available in Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, and Nevada.
Circa is the sixth Arizona online sports betting operator to partner with a tribal nation, joining bet365, Desert Diamond, Fanatics, Hard Rock Bet, and betcris. FanDuel and DraftKings, the two market-share leaders in the U.S., are available in Arizona through partnerships with the Phoenix Suns (FanDuel) and TPC Scottsdale (DraftKings).
BetMGM, Caesars, BetRivers, PENN Entertainment’s theScore Bet, and Bally Bet are also operating in the Grand Canyon State. Circa Sports already competes with many of these same operators in other jurisdictions.
Standing out
The Derek Stevens-owned sportsbook obtained an untethered license in Missouri, allowing Circa to operate without sharing revenue with a partner. DraftKings was the only other operator to receive that type of license there.
Circa operates a retail sportsbook in Las Vegas that runs some of the nation’s biggest and most famous football handicapping contests, including Circa Sports Survivor. The $30-million guaranteed contest reached 5,000 entries on Aug. 1.
