The PGA Tour heads to Motor City for the 2025 Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club, and my top golf picks have you covered for all the action.

It’s a top-heavy field with Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, and Keegan Bradley at the top of the Rocket Classic odds, and with the season hitting the stretch drive, there will be plenty of eyes on the FedEx Cup and Ryder Cup standings.

Golf picks for the Rocket Classic 2025

Rocket Classic outright picks

Outright pick: Ben Griffin
+2200 at DraftKings

Ben Griffin has been the definition of consistency across his past five tournaments. His all-around game fueled a T14 at the Travelers, and he carded four consecutive Top 10s before that, highlighted by his win at the Charles Schwab.

The two-time PGA Tour winner has gained true strokes across every category during this five-event stretch, ranking third in the field in tee-to-green play and fifth in putting. On top of that, Griffin sits 10th on Tour in adjusted scoring average — the highest in this week’s field.

Outright pick: Cameron Young
+3000 at bet365

Detroit Golf Club suits Cameron Young, who’s posted a T2 and T6 in his two starts in the Motor City. He’s also notched three Top 10s over his last six tournaments and ranks fourth in the field in true strokes gained putting.

While his ball-striking has been a bit up and down during the stretch, it’s part of the reason we’re landing a playable number. With 17 career Top 5s — including eight runner-up finishes — the 28-year-old American has a prime opportunity to break through for a win this week.

Rocket Classic prop picks

Finishing position pick: Wyndham Clark Top 30
+110 at bet365

I’m expecting a motivated Wyndham Clark to show up at Detroit Golf Club this week. He needs a sterling stretch to even enter the Ryder Cup conversation, and he showed signs during his T17 finish at the Travelers last week.

Clark gained true strokes across the board, and he also finished solo-eighth at the 2022 Rocket Mortgage and 17th in 2019.

Finishing position pick: Luke Clanton Top 30
+120 at DraftKings

The star in the making is headed to Detroit for the second consecutive year after finishing T10 in 2024. Luke Clanton already has a pair of runner-up finishes across just 15 PGA Tour events, and he's coming off a solid T34 at the Travelers, where he ranked 17th in true strokes gained approach and 14th in putting.

The field for the Rocket Classic isn’t nearly as deep as it was last week during the Travelers, either.

Rocket Classic first-round pick

Round 1 pick: Collin Morikawa Over 11.5 pars
+125 at bet365

This will be the first trip to Detroit since Collin Morikawa finished T2 in 2023. He struggled at the Travelers with true strokes lost on approach, around the green, and putting. It was just the second time in 16 events the two-time major champion lost true strokes on approach, so I’m expecting improvement with iron in hand this week.

Still, Morikawa also putted poorly in the U.S. Open with -2.16 true strokes per round on the greens. As a result, I’m anticipating a lot of greens-in-regulation turning into tap-in pars in Round 1.

Rocket Classic odds

  • Collin Morikawa: +1200
  • Patrick Cantlay: +1600
  • Keegan Bradley: +1800
  • Ben Griffin: +2200
  • Cameron Young: +2800
  • Hideki Matsuyama: +3000
  • Harry Hall: +3000
  • Si Woo Kim: +3000
