Golf betting was extraordinarily good this weekend to one customer at BetRivers Illinois. The bettor had multiple wagers on Collin Morikawa in the PGA Tour’s Workday Charity Open, including a $10,000 play at 28/1 for Morikawa to win.
That bet cashed when Morikawa beat Justin Thomas on the fourth hole of a sudden-death playoff. Morikawa rallied from three strokes down with three holes to play to force the playoff, as both players finished at 19-under 269. When Morikawa two-putted for the win on the fourth playoff hole, the bettor won $280,000. All told, the bettor cashed for more than $1 million over the weekend.

"This is the biggest payout ever at the newly launched BetRivers.com in Illinois, and in fact at all BetRivers.com sportsbooks, which are also live in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Colorado,” said Richard Schwartz of Rush Street Interactive, which operates BetRivers.com. “Our Betrivers.com online sportsbooks have grown extremely fast by offering users a high-quality user experience and chances to win big. Well, winning big is exactly what just happened this weekend at BetRivers.com for this bettor, who won over a million dollars."
The bettor started with a monster win right out of the gate, thanks to a $4,000 wager on Morikawa at 50/1 to lead the tournament after Thursday’s first round. Morikawa shot 7-under 65 to take the lead, and that ticket cashed for $200,000.
The bettor also had a $28,025 bet on Morikawa +750 to finish in the top five, cashing for another $210,000. Those three winners added up to $690,000, and combined with other tickets this weekend, BetRivers said the bettor's total win exceeded $1 million.
