Going to take a stab at this:Team to win Gold:Sweden &#x2B;300 (1 unit)WednesdayCzech Rep./Sweden UNDER 4.5 &#x2B;110 (1 unit)In round robin play in Vancouver, the Swedes won 2-0, 4-2, and 3-0. They play a tight, puck possession style. The question I have is who is going to score for the Czechs? Their best hope is to play defensive and grab those 2-1 wins. We&#x27;re going to see a lot of low-scoring games on this big ice. Sweden takes care of the Czechs 2-1 in this game.ThursdayRussia -4.5 -130 over Slovenia (1 unit)The Russians are going to come out flying and Slovenia has Anze Kopitar and nothing else. It will likely be a different result this time, but the Canadians should still prevail by a score of 5-0.

Your picks look solid. The only thing I&#x27;m wondering about is why do you think Slovakia finishes higher than the USA in round robin, and Switzerland finishes higher than the Czech Republic? Those are the only two I disagree with in the group standing. Could you provide insights into those prediction? Thanks and good luck

I like the Canada -4.5.

In Vancouver Norway was outscored by Canada and the US by a combined 14-1 with combined shots of 81-26. Unless they're upgraded significantly in net I don't really get this line.

If I go outside of Canada for a gold medal wager it will likely be the States.  They are the black horse in this race. The true under dogg in the field. These games can be won by a goalie that is unbeatable and they have 2 of the best. If Canada falls it&#x27;ll be because we lost a goaltending battle. Unfortunately it will take a humbling international loss before we smarten up and stop auto picking our netminders. Enough snipers to get the job done  and goalies that stand on their heads can spell trouble for any team. Looking through their roster they look to have upgraded the team&#x27;s skill since 2010 and yet they are one of the least talked about teams in the tournament with some predicting that they will not even play for a medal. They will have the hardest road to the medal game by far when compared to Sweden or Canada but that may be a good thing. The USA may be tested early by the Slovaks and will surly have a tooth and nail battle with Russia. Low risk of a team getting banged up on the way to the finals in this tournament, so those close games will work as an advantage. They will have to focus and work out any problems early on and will be able to see what adjustments need to be made. It will be interesting to see how they play with such a contrast of speed on the wings vs size in the middle. TSN guys say its there Centers that are their weak spot.

The reason why I put Switzerland ahead of the Czechs is because the Swiss are well-coached and play a defensive system that can allow them to steal some wins. The Czechs are very old and I don't see how they score many goals in this tournament.

I put Slovakia ahead of the U.S. because I have a weird feeling that the Slovaks upset the Americans tomorrow in OT. I think the U.S. will struggle on the big ice and fail to medal in this tournament.

Finland/Austria UNDER 5.5 -120 (1 unit)The Fins are going to struggle to score and rely on defense to get it done, especially without Mikko Koivu. I highly doubt Austria scores in this one, so looks like 3-0 Finland.
