The most effective way to make money from Sports Betting

I am not a really veteran member here, although I've been betting sports for ages and have been following sports betting forums - including here on Covers - for many years, and Yet, I often wonder which is the most effective way to have a profitable endeavor with Sports Betting. What is the most effective system that I know at the end of the month I not only did not lose any money - but actually gained some.
So, my dear colleagues - i came up with few options that I would love to hear your opinion about it:

1. Capping by myself - well, need a lots of time researching and I had my ups and downs -but can not really say I made some money from it, because, even if I gained some - i lacked the discipline to manage the money right.

2. Tailing the leaders from a Streak Survivor and other league contests - I made some excel files entering daily the results and soon found out that the Hot tipsters tend to get cold as soon as they reach the top and go and search and guess who gonna hit the top while they are still at the bottom.

3.Tailing some leading cappers on sports forums - it is a better option than the previous two, but also does noy always guarantee the profitable month as I can not point out 1 best tipster and only follow him as not everybody posts on a daily bases and they too tend to get hot and cold in extreme measures (I still managed to gain some money tailing few of them like 44dimes on WNBA, smartbets, LVTruck, samdude3, mkbini, and some more that I cant remember to mention). Still, need to manage the funds right.

4. Tailing some tout and pay money for it - I paid almost anyone on market and yet have to find one honest tout that does not fake his records and truly is committed.

5. Tailing some sites that give out free picks and commit myself from the beginning of the month to the end and have no head aches - just take the picks and gain monthly - could not find any yet.

So, what do you think guys?

DON'T JUST COPY THE PICKS OF OTHERS. LEARN HOW TO DETERMINE IF IT IS A TRAP GAME  AND LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST! ALWAYS BE HUMBLE...

I think this is great.  Now if you could just do all of those, and then let me know what the plays are           


Sometimes I wish I had a sportsbook secretary.  I just look over the plays, make my plays, and then someone else manages the money and the account.  I swear sports gambling has made me the most undisciplined person.

Jack is right bro!!  you gotta stay humble.  humility and compassion bro,  look for trends.  Hot teams like the NYG!!   favorites and dogs, gotta play both.  overs and unders, props, etc.  no crystal ball here but me thinks if Eli can get protection.  He kills New England!!  Pats defense can be suspect and we know if G-men come to play, they can play.  If running game goes wow,  New Eng.  pretty much has Brady and those two tight ends.  Giants already handled the best one from SF.  my opinion only.

I've been there. done those and wrote and read all.
B4 shipping out couple a years ago to a far faraway land - I used 2 have a time 2 cap myself and like U said - had my ups and downs, but mostly lost on lack of discipline.

2day I found myself an easy refuge - I tail MK. He strarted from may 2011 and 'till now every month was a winner. I just managed to tail him since late November when me and my buddys hit the statewide. That is what I call nirvana and he fits ur paragraph 5. Free, consistent and most importantly - honest capper who used to cap here greatly some time ago 2.
I get up, check livegamestips, get tweeted from him and also checking on FB. True, he does noy win every single pick - but at the end of the month - he is always in plus - records updated.
Yesterday he had a fantastic night with 6-0 and 12 units up.
Love the guy. Modest, honest and free...and consistent. What else do I need.

If you manage your bankroll correctly its hard to lose a substantial amount of money, unless youre just flat out horrible

Absolutely. And usually that gut-pick is always right one. Only 1 problem with that is the same as with doing an H, with time the effect wears off, and then, every morning I see 12 gut-picks and not sure anymore which is right. Second guessing is the other enemy.
I surrendered myself to J.... (meaning MK). Go to his blessed site, get the picks, wager exactly what he says even if I think hes crazy - and count the money at the end of the month. Easy

I AGREE WITH JOE WASHINGTON, BEFORE CHECKING STATS AND OTHER STUFFS I SEE THE DAY SCHEDULE GAME BY GAME AND JUST SEEING THE GAMES SOMETHING COMES TO MY MIND ON 2-3-4  SPECIFIC GAMES SOMETIMES SIDES OTHERS OVER/UNDER THEN I FOCUS ON STATS AND STUFF OF THAT GAMES THAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION AND I MAKE MY PLAYS AND THE LAST BUT NOT LEAST IMPORTANT YOU SHOULD BET YOUR OWN PLAYS NOT OTHERS PLAYS GOOD LUCK

There is no magic formula or system!  Discipline is a must I agree. Do whatever you feel good about and can live with at the end of the day.

I think Money Management is the most important thing. I find it very difficult to do on my own picks or when I tail someone good - because I gotta do it constantly and as it had been said here before - on a monthly bases. 
And yes - MK had a most fantastic night on livegamestips last night. It's a shame I only tailed his two picks as I thought he is nust to pick Over 5.5 in a Flyers game and Under 50 on NE Baltimore.

KEEP RECORDS OF YOUR PICKS.  then over time you can analyze whether you're any good.  also you might have a one time of year that you're better than others.  during a normal year i'm good in the nba from the beginning to february 11, just before all-star break and a couple of weeks before the trade deadline.

I agree keep track of your picks and record.  I even use this site to track my picks in the league contests.  That way if anyone ever questions me it is right there.

jackmenis - I already tried capping by myself as I wrote. It doesn't work for me, 'cause as soon as I have a winning day in big - I lose twice as much the next one because I am becoming too confident and raise my bets etc. Thanks for your input thou.

DanTos8715 - I agree with you that ahving a good discipline or a disciplined/ing secretary  is a great thing and regardless would improve my feeling.

ShadowWarrior - as I have already answered jack, capping by myself works for me just for a short period and then the demons take on my discipline particles in my brain and I go kaboom...

meraby - I absolutely agree with you. I know about livegamestips too and I know the guy over there is a real deal - it took me forever checking his record and I even followed him for a week or so, but he did not have such a great days lately and I abandoned checking him. Now I saw that he really hit like 7 in a row and is in a plus figure for this month too. I might tail him from February. I will keep a close eye on him. Thanks

joewashington - ma man, I love that feeling too. Don't we all? But I have that feeling only after I don't bet for a few days. But day by day - it wears off and I get all confused if this is a gut feeling or just what I want it to be...

FredTheGordon - I agree with you absolutely - but somehow it returns me back to my questions, because managing the money must be just another part of a good capping, just managing the money without anything to manage does not make sense

meraby, tahrir2011 - as I already have mentioned, I agree about MK being a certain way of solving all this as long as his success continues (can't argue with a winning record since may 2011 for every single month)

BET-MAN - I agree with you but that is not a question, I would rather hear you talking about the league contest tailing if you have experimented about, or a tout experience iof you had some. Thanks for your input

Kiddrock - I way too old to believe in a formula - strategy may be is what I am looking for, not even a tactic but a plain strategy to have money in a plus fihure at the end of the month

juliansorrel - I already have mentioned that the money managemnt is a real important issue and complimented MK too. If it all comes down to tailing one guy  - it might be a solution, and I will look into it - but nobody relates to other paragraphs in my thread. Thanks

icpopp - I think your question got an answer already... its a guy who used to cap here and then started his own free picks site and doing not bad at all. Good luck finding him....

stevenp - I remember you posting comments on thematic threads of NBA and was always a big fan of your analysis. But I already have said that capping by myself (by the way, I am 4-2 on NBA picks) is done for me.

As long as you are able to manage your funds responsibly and you use not only stats and trends for capping - but also understand that contemporary sports are a part of a big enterprise that includes gambling as part of its business - in other words - the things that look obvious are not always so and trends and streaks meant to draw bets - are bound to stop. There are many factors involved as sharps, wise guys, organized triads - and they all have in common one thing - they drive the lines up and down and sometimes have a hand in a fix or two - usually a point shaving - and you have to figure out what will be the next - straight play or otherwise - should you pick or stay away... You need a time a professional approach if you really wanna make money on betting and to make money on a continuous basis - is a very hard thing. You can never let your guard down and can never be basing your strategy on a sole thing. Many believe - and wrongly so - that Vegas is interested for us to lose bets so they can gain profits. Vegas makes money on juice. For every bet you lose - someone else is winning. I can go on here endlessly explaining where the sports pyramide starts from and how the info gets around from sports agents and so and so, or can recommend you to take a study in NLVU about the subject. The bottom line is always one - you need to invest lots of time to become a successful capper. Not only a talented, but a pro.

If you already have chosen to tail someone - you better do it in all his picks and on a monthly basis - but only one person to tail. You can tail 44dimes, or a smartbets, LV Truck, samdude3, or anyone else you already have mentioned as a winning one -but do it on a constant basis. BOL
