I like Minnesota too. 9 points seem way too much thou. Risky line. In GS - Boston game I like Under better than a side. Yesterday, GS "was not" supposed to cover against the Sixers and pushed the original line of -7. Some big money was lost on that play - the same money that drove the line down to -6 and usually the next game the team that "accidentally" covered - is not covering. Check the stats. That's hard to explain and I'm not a conspiracy theorist - but can't argue with the facts. So' I am careful there too especially the game being the last on the evening and GS being a very popular bet while the line moving in opposite direction.
Portland is the other side of that story with Philadelphia losing to GS yesterday.
Very tough card today. No clear games you can point your finger at and say - that's the one. We'll see. There's still a time.
Thanks for your input thou giving the games the stage to be discussed MelosJamper

Cant wait to hear your picks Mavin....I'm very excited to hear what you thinks gonna happen tonight.  I always love your analysis and wave of thinking in general. It's an array of different ways of looking at the games in more complete depth, that in turn separates you from other cappers. BOL tonight and i appreciate all the help you have given, not just to me but everyone in this forum.

Hey Mavin, Whats your view on the Miami game? I think they should have no problem covering against Milwaukee... I know they're on a back to back but they should come out strong after a humiliating look ahead loss yesterday. Any reason to be concerned with taking that game?

I'm also liking Boston to have a bounce back game. Curious to hear your takes man.

    Thanks brother man!

Hey Mavin, Also love the thread.  whats your general feeling on teams playing back 2 backs, as that covers a lot of games today, and one of the reasons it such a tough card.

    thx

I do have to agree with you about jameer nelson.  Certain players on certain teams have huge impacts that you can't see without watching the games on tv.  I guess a good example of that is like Tyson Chandler for the Knicks.  He doesnt have gaudy numbers but he shoots the best in NBA (and yes i know they are all dunks but lets face it if the ball goes in the hoop its all that matters). However the biggest thing he does that people don't always see is how many times a guy drives to the hole and misses a shot because of the effect of Chandler just being there.  Similar to Fab Melo when he played for Syracuse last year, not gaudy numbers but every shot was more challenging going to the hole along with the rebounds and blocks he would get. However the difference obviously is Nelson has the adverse effects as well in some games.

I think Memphis has a great chance at covering tonight... Tough spot for the Nuggs... 4th game in 5 days against a well rested Memphis squad

Mavin are you liking anything this evening? and thanks for confirming my denver pick last night. gave me an extra boost of confidence on the game

    Final:
    INDIANA Pacers +2.5 (-110)   110$

Last time around in Phillips Arena - the Pacers lost a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter allowing the local team a 18-0 run. I'm sure that sits in the mind of the players and is emphasized by a coaching staff as well. I agree that the Hawks remember that as well and will try not to fall into the same hall they'll have to climb out from as in a previous game. But I believe the effort on the Pacers side will be stronger to end the 10 game losing streak at the arena.

I'm liking the Pacers and their slow pace ball..they're 29th in scoring in the league but the also allow the fewest points. Looking forward to the upset @ the Highlight Factory

SportsMavin, any thoughts on Houston OKC.  Looks to me from a basketball perspective OKC is the play.  Houston on back-to-back and 4th in 5 nights. Public money (from where I check) looks about 62-65% on OKC, yet line has move from Houston +4.5 to 4.

I would love to pound OKC, but this is telling me Houston may be a play.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

I am taking this first half bet with the perspective at the halftime as well. I repeat again - I don't think it is going to be a sweep night for the heavy favorites like the Heat, the Thunder, the Bulls and the TWolves. Otherwise - that parlay is enough to cash nice on MLs only. So, will the Bulls lose outright at home to the Wizards? Crazy scenario. Will the TWolves lose to the Suns? That is less crazy than the Bulls losing - but still looks very unlikely. Will the Heat lose second consecutive game away - this time to the Bucks? Well, that is possible. Will the Thunder lose in Houston? That is possible as well. So, we have two games that one of them, or may both are going to produce the shocker. Probably. Because I do not see the books handing us such presents as the two team parlay. Too easy. On Saturday? Well, you know how it goes in MLB with two heavy favorites almost never winning both at the same night and letting us to double our money. So, why here? So we have to figure which is more prone to experience a let down tonight?
