Great first inning!! Now let’s dominate 

White Sox lead 3-0 after one, Martin needed only nine pitches, and Arrighetti burned 33 just to survive the first. That is exactly the gap we wanted for the first five.

Now the script is simple Martin needs a shutdown inning. Houston can absolutely hit, so no free passes and no letting the top of the order build momentum. Get us back to the dugout with the lead intact

Martin’s leaning heavily on the fastball right now, throwing it about 60% of the time at around 93 mph. The good news is he’s through two scoreless innings with no hits, no walks, and only 18 pitches. The only caveat is the command 10 strikes and 8 balls. He’s getting the outs, but he’s not completely dialed in yet

These pros just need to WORK.

A.J. Blubaugh is in now, a right-handed long-relief type with a good pitch mix. Houston is hoping he can stabilize the game and eat some innings, but we need to jump on him immediately and keep the pressure rolling.

I’ve got mad love for Arrighetti tonight. Thank you, sir, for throwing up a little cushion before heading to the showers. We’ll take that all day.

A clean inning here keeps all the pressure on Houston and puts us in excellent shape for the first-five ticket. One pitch at a time go get another zero.

Spence getting hit is not ideal. Vazquez is up next, and then the lineup flips back to Pena, Alvarez and the dangerous part of the order. We need to get two quick outs right here and kill this inning

Huge escape by Martin. Thirty-five pitches through three, and he strands two runners with the heart of Houston’s order lurking. That’s exactly what we needed.

We haven’t been able to generate much traffic against this kid, and while we’ve still got a small cushion, it’s nowhere near comfortable. We need another zero here like it’s oxygen

Martin’s strike-to-ball ratio has tightened up, and the pitch mix looks much better than it did early. He’s throwing with more confidence now. We just need one clean, efficient inning here. A quick zero keeps all the pressure on Houston and puts us in a great spot

Blubaugh is absolutely hittable we just have to stop letting him skate through clean innings and put some real traffic on him.
