So you basically destroyed half of your profits by losing 1 game. Yeah...that's a smart move. Take the Yanks +1.5 at around the same amount tomorrow and you might be able to take care of that other half of your profits.

ALL IM GOING TO SAY IS THAT WHEN A PERSON NORMALLY BETS HIGH FAVORITES, IT MEANS THEY DONT NOW THE SPORT THEY ARE BETTING, THEY THINK THEY ARE SMARTER THAN ANYBODY ELSE AND JUST GO WITH THE EASIEST PICK ON THE BOARD THINKING THEY ARE GOING TO BE MILLONAIRES. I HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS THAT USE TO BE LIKE THAT WITH SOCCER, THEY CLAIM THEY KNOW ABOUT SOME OBVIOUS FACTS ( FOR EXAMPLE BARCELONA, REAL MADRID, VALENCIA AND SEVILLA ARE THE BEST 4TEAMS IN THE SPANISH LEAGUE) AND CHOOSE THOSE 4 TEAMS FOR THE WEEK AND PARLAYED THEM TO AVOID PAYING A LOT OF JUICE AND OF COURSE THEY ALWAYS LOST THE PARLAY BECAUSE ONE OF THOSE TEAMS DIDNT GET THE WIN. PEOPLE DONT REALIZE THAT THE ODDSMAKERS KNOW ABOUT IT AND THATS WHY THE PAY SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY IF YOU BET BIG FAVORITES. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN PROFIT IN MY HUMBLE OPINION IN GAMBLING IS TRYING TO GET SOME EDGE IN AN "EVEN MATCHUP GAME FOR THE BOOKS"  (-110 LINES OR SIMILAR) AND IF YOU KNOW THE GAME AND FOLLOWED THE SPORT FOR THE WHOLE SEASON YOU WILL SEE THAT EDGE AND FINISH THE SEASON AS A WINNER. IVE DONE THAT AND ALTOUGH I DODNT POST REGULARLY , I HAVE EXPERIMENT WINNING SEASONS JUST WITH THAT METHOD.

Just a thought while you are all laughing at someone else's misfortune because they lost playing a system that you don't like....

How is this different from any chase system once you've lost (say) the first 3 even money bets?  You double on each chase, and by the end you're betting (say) $900 to win $100.

The principle is the same; your chances of winning a small amount are very high.  Your chances of losing a large amount are very low, but not non-zero.

It doesn't matter what system you play.  If you can consistently identify bets which are in 'fact' better value than the odds shown you will win in the long term.  So give the guy a break....
