Yes, Shelton recently injured his shoulder and I do think 1st serves are crucial in this matchup for him.  However, Shelton has a better edge on almost everything else.  He will definitley need to get his first serves in, but as long as he tries to hold up his first serves, this game should go in Sheltons way.  I do see a bounce back from his previous outings and see him coming into this one focused.  Good luck guys.

Shelton definitley needed all those nice 1st serves in that game like I said.  Glad he came out to play.  Let's eat!

Rublev @ -115

This matchup definitley smells like an upset by Tien, but in my opinion, indoors is a huge difference to outdoor hard.  The ball will travel and Rublev wins his sets through his higher baseline serve and forehand.  While I do see this as a 2-1 win for Rublev, im just worried his emotions and attitude might disrupt him from winning the game.  However, there is definitley value in this line and I hope to see Rublev come through against a slightly seasoned Tien.

Rublev had a nice game.  He got broken service in the second set, but came back to snatch the set and match.  Let's keep winning so we can all eat!

Birrell @ -115

If you havent noticed, I only take picks from plus odds to -130.  Now this game, it looks like a coin flip.  Not only that, Birrell's opponent, Bartunkova, has an overall better stat in many categories (like second serve wins).  Bartunkova also has a better deciding set toughness than Birrell, which i think is important in this matchup in Chennai.  Although all signs point to Bartunkova, the main reason why I chose Birrell is because although Bartunkova has a slight edge in almost every category (that I check), Birrell has had more hard opponents than Bartunkova.  Although Birrell also lost many matches to lower seed opponents, I think her recent outings show she can take the first W at Chennai.  Also to just add it out there, what got me to bet on Birrell is that she has a far better baseline game than Bartunkova.

Going to keep this short.  Getting tired of writing writeups and I dont even know why I need to haha.  Anyways, Hunter coming back from Achilles issue from 2024.  She came back in April, but has shown she's not fully there yet.  Hontamas favorite court is hard as well.  She's great at countering baseline game, and has good movement in hard.  Hontama is definitley bottled up for a win as well.  Good luck guys.

Birrell with a great comeback.  That baseline game definitley helped her, as well as the maturity difference in stamina that helped her in the conditions in Chennai too.

Sonego Total Games Over 10.5

Sonego is a heavy underdog, but he has a huge serve.  Mussetti prefers slower courts as well, which i feel like Sonego could take a set or keep all sets close. Good luck.
