Laura Samson has worked her way into the match 

Elsa Jacquemot has a 2-8 record on clay this season and has lost 12 of her last 15 matches overall including a recent loss as a -300 favorite. 

She faces Brockmann, the young German wildcard playing in her first tour-level main-draw match. She's had some encouraging results in recent weeks going 6-5 on home soil including a nice qualifying win over Alycia Parks in Berlin.

There's a good chance that the Jacquemot match doesn't start today if the current match goes to 3. So if you don't like having money tied up it may be best to avoid.

All the analytics point to a Bondar win in the final but Korpatsch has surprisingly played a bit out of her league this week in front of the home crowd and she does hold a 4-0 h2h (8-1 sets). Those matches were spread out over several years but at least a few were on clay and even though I can't really pinpoint a reason why this matchup might favor Korpatsch per se, I would think if nothing else it could really help out the oh-so-important confidence factor.

On paper her last two wins were pretty impressive beating the player with the most 125 level & above clay court wins this year in Kalinina and then the red hot deputy who was riding a 13 match win streak. I didn't catch that match though and the Sherif did retire so perhaps she finally did run out of gas after that Badosa match but still impressive nonetheless and another confidence boost.

Bondar has played very good at times this week and is the defending champ here so she should enter with confidence as well but she has come REALLY close to packing her bags a couple times already this week after saving match points yesterday against Avanesyan and of course the insane meltdown from the young German a few days ago. 

I've seen quite a bit of Bondar this week but unfortunately not much Korpatsch which keeps me from being super confident about anything here. Like I said, on paper Bondar should have the advantage but with what Korpatsch has accomplished this week in her home country something tells me she might end up lifting the trophy.

I expect a battle either way so I'm gonna start by going small on Korpatsch 2-1 (+330) and possibly add something live if the situation warrants.

In yesterdays post-match interview Tamara was shocked by her level during the match. I found that weird because you could see right from the start that Sherif was hampered, but I mean yeah Tamara played well in her own right lol

I don't see Bondar making as many errors as yesterday GL :)
