    @packersbackers

     Osaka’s stance is bought and paid for.  These athletes have always been us3d as social engineering tools.  Last year it was BLM which in fact is just the lbgtq/feminist cause and this year it’s mental health lol.

    it’s on the youth to stop looking to these bozo’s as leaders.

    @BIGDTITLE

     Just 2 weeks ago all atp/wta players were silent on their social media for some mental health cause.  I saw an article about some top junior male player who’s now 29 blaming his mental health issues for his failures when going pro.  There’s an agenda here and Osaka is their biggest pawn.

    So hold up, just because Osaka is a successful athlete with loads of money, her mental health can't be a real issue or valid? So money makes you immune to mental health? Well fuck me, I guess all I need is to be rich and my depression will just go away.

    If any of you had been paying just a little attention, you would know Naomi has spoken and posted online, about her struggles with her mental health in the past, especially after she won her 1st GS, when her form vanished and she struggled hard on the court. I dunno man, maybe she was entitled to refuse a press conference and maybe the organizers shouldn't have threaten her with the expulsion, maybe they should've reached out to her behind the scenes and settled things there.

    Thiem also confessed of struggling with depression lately, hence his poor results, is he a snow flake too? I mean FFS, these people are humans too, social status and money doesn't shield you from mental health problems, is it that hard to show a little bit of empathy of compassion? Or just STFU, if you don't have a reference, for what these people are talking about...

    Don’t do monfils like that he’s always worth the price of admission.

     Millions of everyday citizens go through mental health issues.  Guess what?  They still have to go to work, these athletes are tone death and I hope the youth see it.  Their the new preachers when it comes to social engineering.

     you're right...anyone who's able to sack Svitolina earns my respect for a few extra years to drag their career out.

    @yaongingy

     i praised Thiem for his courage and effort on the court since his return...in no way am i minimizing mental health issues where he is concerned.

    i do have a strong opinion regarding Osaka's decision to withdraw suddenly after winning yesterday...this is a total disrespect to the game itself...she knew this was going to be her agenda all along, and it's a total slap in the face to her opponet Tig...Osaka should have withdrawn BEFORE the event and go deal with her issues just like everyone else struggling with mental health crisis...this is a total butcher job from a public relations standpoint for Osaka...i'm sure my opinion will offend some, but as an ex-professional athlete, i know that she broke an unwritten code, especially for a major, and she basically denied another player the opportunity to make money and advance their own career by doing exactly what she has deliberately chosen to do....no one is above the sport they are in, everyone plays by the same rules...and every single athlete knows exactly what is expected of them when signing up for this life...answering questions to reporters is one of these expectations...who is she to demand the press to leave her alone just days before the event?

    i sincerely hope she gets the support she needs to overcome whatever demons she's battling, however this shitstorm is all on her lack of accountability to the sport which has made her wealthy beyond any of us could ever imagine...all her sponsorship deal money would not even equate a powerball jackpot here in North America.

    this comes down to a self entitlement issue.

    You guys are kidding yourselves if you believe Naomi is dealing with mental health issues.  When you announce you will forgo your media obligations and then subsequently withdraw you and your pr team knows the attention it brings.  If she was going through stuff you don’t mention anything and withdraw while leaving the media in the dark.

    I’ve been following this anti-bully/mental health movement the atp/wta has chose to highlight this past month.  This is no different than her Asian lives matter/blm rhetoric.  These athletes really believe their leaders/activists.  There’s a lot of money grifting.

    we should highlight real people with real issues.  Go sympathize with them.

    Youre way off on the point here man and your Thiem example is horrible and has absolutely zero comparison to this. When did Thiem ever say Im gonna start a MAJOR tournament then withdraw because of the press while announcing beforehand he wasn't gonna speak to them. Stop it. Its not like something happened to Osaka after her arrival and she decided it would be too hard to cope. She announced it beforehand! She had an agenda. It backfired on her and her team thinking Europeans would cater to it. If it was the US Open maybe they would have babied her. They misread the tea leaves bad. If you want to make a stance for your cause do it the right way

     Amen, Marquee

    Naoimi...sigh...she is definately one of those young people who desperately need a cause. We should be thankful she's not strapping bombs to herself and running through Jewish neigborhoods. This kid is special thanks to her talent/success/celebrity, so she is gonna be in our faces a LONG time.

    I watched her glom onto Tiafoe at US OPen. The cause then was George Floyd (sigh). SOmeone musta put the mental health "cause" in her tiny brain so here we are. How she was able to spin a post match press interview as being a mental health threat, I have no idea. She has a job; the job pays her LOTS of money because of fans; fans create sponsorships; the press feeds the fans. Its not a complicated business model! If everyone with a job screamed "mental health" when they had to perform an uncomfortable, inconvenient task as part of their job, economies would collapse.

    Obviously, her job, like any individual sport, is by definition stressful. But she has so many options including avoiding stress by taking a different job. Its like an airline pilot refusing to takeoff and land because its stressful and impacting his mental health.

    Funny, when there's a Black cause, she's pure Hatian. When she's grabbing sponsorships from Japanese companies, she's pure Japanese. If only she was better looking; wouldn't be so hard to listen to her confused rantings.

    @yaongingy

     LOL get a life my guy.

    HO HUM my life is so hard I can't sit down in a post match interview and BS thru a couple softball questions. I would have respect if she made claims it is about her play on the court and she is having issues. But she says her problems are with the media asking questions????? WOW.

    She flip flops on 1000 issues a week; this week is mental health. Next week will be national margarita week. Move along.
