Homeplayers always doing well in the mixed slams, Gadecki/Peers won this last year, they now playing Miedler & Zvonareva who never played togheter, in fact Miedler has never played a mixed match in his life. Zvonareva who is 41 now did win US open and Wimblendon in mixed +20 years ago..she's 0-3 in the last since 2023, her last win in mixed was 5 years ago.
Errani/Vavassori the Italian powehouse, Errani ranked #1 in womens and Vavassori #6 in doubles, they are 23-5 in mixed (!!) 11-1 on hardcourt last year, Winning both US open and French Open last year, and US open again 2024. They should be favorite to win it all this year.
They are playing Roger-Vasselin & Siegemund, which are not a bad pair, they won french open 2024 and is 7-1 together, but this will be their first hardcourt match.
Roger-Vasselin is now 42 years old and is not looking good, lost already the 1st round in the mend double as a big favourite, he lost his last 4 mixed in United Cup.
Siegemund is playing better, lost the first set 6-0 against Samsonova but manage to win it in 3, she is now playing two matches tomorrow in single and double where she's favourite to win both, so don't think she will care much about this mixed if she win both of them.
Hon is playing at Rod Laver Arena for the first time, unfortunately for her it's already 10pm in Melbourne and her match won't start until 11pm the earliest.
De Minuar is playing at the moment, and is already a lot of empty seats, and can't imagine that a lot of them will stay for this match.

Also Krawczyk D. / Skupski N, Fernandez and Kyrigos is such a random pair, can't even see them talking to each other outside the court. Leylah is 1-5 in 2026, already out in sinlge and double in the first round, I'm sure she just want to leave Australia as soon as possible.
Krawczyk D. / Skupski N have won wimbeldon twice in mixed, they reached the final here in 2024 and have another final loss in French Open togheter. can't see them lose in the first round here

unfortunately the last leg in our lost not sure what the Italians was doing, I missed that Vavassori lost the first in the men’s double (reached the final last year) so there was some warning signs for being a ?? play.
