My boss is such a fucking blowhard jerkoff with computers. God only knows what sights he visited and how many "OK's" he accepted. Long story, not gonna get into it.

Anyway, now I'm eating the shitburger on my own laptop. Microsoft Sec essentials won't handle the worm crawling around unless I fight it every day..

what browser do you use?  You'd be betting off learning how to block and turn off everything in your browser of choice and learn how to selectively decide what the minimum is needed to run on a page/site than worrying about anti-virus.

You need to install Malwarebytes first and run a full scan.  Most stuff now is Malware instead of virus'. Yes, there is a geeky difference.  I would just grab one of the freebies to begin with.  Currently we are putting Avast free on everyones computers that come into the shop.

I have tested that a couple of times.  Not bad.  Will use it after the Malware scan soetimes.

BTW, we don't use it as first defense because it has missed things that Malwarebytes found.  We have ran Hitman first and then ran Malwarebytes.  It seems to get about 90% of the malware and virus'

That's what I run.  But I don't go to high risk websites or browsing.  If you happen to go to high risk areas I would purchase the full version of Malwarebytes instead of getting the free version.

Newegg has been running a bunch of Malwarebytes Pro sales recently for $10 -- waiting for mine in the mail
