dont track the Heat on the ML, i never saw them at plus money. I did bet them this morning at (+1)(-1.10)....

so someone keep us posted on how the nba plays are going...

the moneyline tracking is far more important for me to know, because thats what would fit into the program...

ill post what im playing for the TOP play or plays in a few minutes, i want to look into a few more things... the first 2 weeks are very much a "feeling out process"....

ok here is the dilema for me today.... the TOP play out of the 4 listed is Atlanta +3.............. but there is a slightly stronger play, using a favorite tonight and that is Portland -2.5......... i didnt list portland for the tracking because of the fact that they are a favorite but according to the program they are the strongest play, laying the fewest points..

we have enough info for the tracking and we have the Power Ratings Program posted, so im going to think about what im going to wager tonight, ill post it later, it will come from the Program plays and it will be listed as a TOP play....

Milwaukee +3 (-1.10) $110 to win $100

Atlanta +3 (-1.10) $110 to win $100

Sacremento +4 (-1.10) $110 to win $100

 

one thing is for sure, those lines will move before tonight, that could be good or bad........ i cant sit around all day and wait to post the plays, so i have to go with the lines posted above.. its usally a good idea to wait on the dogs until later in the day...

all i can say is, thats what i did... you must decide for yourself what to play and for how much..

It's likely this doesn't make sense for reasons I'm not awares of. But in regards to playing dogs with points, given your system, would one possibility be to increase the wager slightly per point of spread?

For instance, for each .5 point you increase the unit by .10. Five point dogs and it's a two-unit bet. (Arbitrary numbers)

Just a suggestion, thought of it yesterday, if I understand the problem correctly than maybe it's a possibility going forward.

IMHO, this is still the best idea in this thread, bar none.

Not sure if we can get better either..

still kicking around how i want to ultimately play the nba... if i had used the nba in the program, the first 2 nights... the record would be (2-3) (-0.20 units) ...... losing phx on opening night and losing det and mil tonight... while winning (atl +1.30) and (sac +1.50)...

looks like a nice little night for me, going 3-1 on the TOP plays and splitting our 2 nhl program dogs..

I played these four using Jokeheads ATS/ML split method. Cashed five of eight bets for a gain of almost 1.5 units.  I really thought Detroit was going to cover the ML until the last minute of the game.

I think this worked pretty well for a first attempt.

just found this thread last night, can accept my friend request? would like to pm you.

Jokeheads method would work best when you have a +ML though, wouldn't it?

Does it make sense to use that method when it's a -ML ?

i believe so, most of this picks are dogs anyway so the ML would be plus money also. the four picks dufresne tracked were all plus money.

here are a few of my notes for thursday oct 28:

there are 2 NBA games tonight, neither qualify as a play for the Program whatsover... so its a night off from the nba.

here are the results that i have from tracking the first 2 nights of the nba season (and this may be the last time that i post these results), someone else can handle that.

Tracking:

ATS: 4-4 (-0.40 units)

ML 2-3 (-0.20 units)

so we basically have a wash so far....

as i stated above, we must all decide how to play the plays for ourselves. tomorrow night im going to put the nba plays into the main Program... I will probably be risking only $10 per play for a few nights, unlike the plays for hockey and baseball where im up to risking $35... so ill start small and see what happens... my thread project is running about 2.5 months ahead of schedule and i can afford to do this...  i also thinks its far less risky for me doing this,,,,, than it is to bet $100 on each play....

you decide for yourself what to do... im leaning in that direction, mainly because it sticks strictly with the computer program that ive created.... i will still play the stronger choices as TOP plays..

again, you decide for yourself what to do... im just a regular guy, dont lose sight of that..
