Well tbh today's game seems 50/50. If I had to make a bet I'd take Jays as a value play.  Hughes should never be a -170 fave, let alone against a team with some very good bats.

What do you guys do when the better RPI team is the dog? Do you take the 1.5 runs or take the better odds on the ML? Baltimore and Pittsburgh are both dogs today.

BAL isn't an official play. I just listed it there as they are only 4 points off the RPI and may qualify as an unofficial bet. Of course that still depends on B2W.

Good point on Baltimore (I'm playing them in any case). Taking these specific examples out of the equation, there have been teams that were official plays but were dogs (pretty sure on that). Just wanted to see how others bet these (RL or ML).

That's still up to you if you'd take the ML or RL. If it was me, I'd take the ML cause BAL is a so-so team for me. Better value. But that's just me though. GL

Hey guys any thoughts on CIN b game? Votto is out and Cueto is bothered by blister. Cincy is dependent on votto's bat.
B2W are you sure about this chase?

The RPI is a system, which means you don't handicap specific games and/or series.  You simply play the numbers each and every time and trust that the statistics and numbers you researched will continue to play out.

Short answer...if the RPI spread meets either the 35/H or 42/A criteria - you play the series regardless of pitchers, injuries, streaks, etc...

Hey, it makes sense to be wary of the Reds now that they've lost Votto for 3-4 weeks, I get it.  If I were just handicapping individual games I would definitely take it into consideration.  But it has nothing to do with how you play a series chase in the system.

    ^ This.

The Yankees lost half their rotation and proceeded to bend over every other team in the league.  Anything can happen.

With all due respect - I disagree with some of this.  B2W's system clearly states that teams must have no significant injuries.  Votto is a significant injury.  In addition, it also states both teams must not be going in opposite direction in the W/L column - so that implies streaks.

So I defer to B2W on the OFFICIAL plays - but we technically do not follow blindly even if there are injuries - there is a bit of semi-capping going on in the system.

The way I see it it a system is a generic form of capping - taking teams with certain criteria and placing a wager.  Individual flat bets on games may create a small win but implementing a chase - increases that win%.

Injuries, streaks, etc are simply filters to prevent losses - the idea is to identify the correct criteria and incorporate into a system to increase Win % to a level that will overcome losses and vig.

Yeah, you're right, B2W's system definitely has those qualifiers in it and I jumped the gun a bit.  I personally don't cap at all past the RPI spread, I just trust the numbers and let it fly!
