The best strategy is to do your best at including as many sports as possible.
Today, pick an NFL playoff game. Tomorrow pick an NBA game. Tuesday an NCAA Men's BB. Wednesday an NHL or NBA. Thursday an NCAA BB. Friday and NHL or NBA. Saturday an NCAA BB. Said another way choose your picks from the biggest boards each day.

whenever an elite player is out for any reason, money comes heavy against that players team. The higher the profile of the game and if the injury or other reason gets reported and hyped, the more unbalanced the money. The line is overadjusted so the better pick is the shorthanded team. Teams can usually replace enough of the lost production to cover. If the game is not so high profile, like 2 non power college hoops teams on a Saturday, you might want the opponent who is not shorthanded. It’s a strategy to find and pick these situations, just not so easy to be patient and limit picks to only these situations. It’s an idea. Try it out.
