Serious Streak Survivor Strategies
Wow, just wow. Michigan St. just out hustled by Louisville....Was climbing the ladder in the bracket contest and had all of my final four teams still alive until Michigan st. last night... Oh well.
The Orange didn't cover the game, They were lucky to come away with a win as Wisconsin was shooting lights out with the 3 ball. But I was able to win some on the moneyline.....
I want to thank my book I use here in Vegas for coming out with In-game betting for this tournament. I just happened to notice it when I was scrolling through the lines on my phone. As I was watching Michigan St getting whooped on, the line kept going from michigan st +6, to +7 to +8 and I kept biting!
Thinking they would make a little run to make it tight toward the end. PUT THE PHONE DOWN! PUT THE PHONE DOWN! ![]()
That's O.K. Bama, I think Florida is ready to Chomp through whoever they run across. They are looking good.

It definately gets harder to press the submit button the longer your streak is. And if you get past the 17 mark, all that is on your mind is how close the 25,000 is.... My streak ended at 18. So I know thewhitesmith at 20 was feeling the weight of that money.
I waited 5 days before taking that final pick to end my streak, and there were plenty of games I loved that I just couldn't pull the trigger on. Arizona had a nice run at that time, and I came so close, but no.
I don't put a lot of time into stats and past performances against certain matchups just for the fact I feel a manager, team, or pitcher are going to adjust for their previous failures. That's why I say stats are only as true as the game that is about to be played.
My streak ended on a gut play with the St. Louis Cardinals that of course ended up winning the World Series. The only reason why I bring that up is a couple of people couldn't understand why I took them at the time, as they were playing the mighty Milwaukee Brewers. The Cards had just gotten Edwin Jackson from the White Sox. He got whooped on by the Brewers at Milwaukee, and 6 days later would be making his home debut in front of the crowd at St. Louis. I knew the Brew Crew were hot, but I felt St Louis was ready for some payback. Jackson got down a couple of runs, but held his own. St Louis just wasn't hitting the ball that well. Especially PUJOLS, that went 0-5 or 0-6. And had multiple opportunities with men on base. The game did end up going to extra innings which made my heart race like crazy again just to ache after they gave up 2 runs in the 10th, then lost.
I would have taken them again in that spot. But I do wish I would have trusted myself to take a few other games that I balked on before that one. I say if you have a feeling, go for it. Then you won't have the feeling of regret for what you feel you should have done. NO GUTS, NO GLORY!!!!
Ahhh, I love Baseball. I don't think I've ever passed 8 on any other sport.

Bama-Maybe it's good thing you weren't able to pick Florida since you have them playing the wrong team. Murray St was already eliminated.
These Gators are tough to put down.I really needed the Survivor win to break out of a mini 5 game slump. I was sorry to see you on the other side and regret that they bit you. That made their win bittersweet for me, since I knew you had real world money riding on the outcome.
I just saw that Marquette had only beaten BYU ( they were the winners of the play-in game) and then Murray State pushed them. The win over Murray State failed to impress me because Marquette should have blown them out of the gym if they were real. Florida, on the other hand, won both games by 30+ points each. Virginia, an ACC team, had everyone bragging about their tough defense and the Gators completely demoralized them in embarassing fashion. Norfolk State surprised Final Four candidate Missouri, proving they were a good team in the process, and yet again the Gators beat them like they stole something precious.
How far will these Gators go? I anticipate a really intense battle tomorrow with Louisville and Coach Pitino. When pressed, I believe that Coach Donovan and his Gators will prevail against his mentor. I'm not recommending this play for anyone else, but I may just take a shot with Florida -1.5 tomorrow.

I respected Wisconsin, but still thought that the 'Cuse would win by five or more. That was a tough game to cap with Melo out due to his troubles. I'm glad you collected on the ML and I thought that they would cover you Survivor pick. Tomorrow, I think the road ends for Syracuse after seeing Ohio State manhandle a physical Cincinnati bunch.
I agree with you about Florida. They were flying under the radar a bit. They have now proven that they will be a force to be reckoned with. Everyone is certainly on notice now and the word is out. Protect your ass! There are Gators chomping in these parts!

After doing some quality research, I finally settled on the Utah Jazz -1.5. I feel that this line offers tremendous value for the streaking home Jazz here against Denver who will be without Gallinari and Fernandez with Miller also npt one hundred percent. Utah won the last meeting earlier this season at Denver by 10 after losing the other meeting, also in Denver. Utah, meanwhile, is looking for their sixth win in a row and seventh straight home win.

I'm alive for yet another parlay as I took all the dogs in the tournament. Xavier pulled it out ATS now Ohio is winning straight up. This would be great because so many people have NC in their brackets. I want everybody's bracket busted just like mine. LOL. At any rate I have a lot bets going tonight so If I can eeek out a profit that would be good. The way I see it I'm playing with house money anyways.
The loss of a point guard can be devastating so I am not surprised, but it is still shocking to see this happen to the Heels.

Just a thought and a observation about myself and to see if anybody else experiences this as well. When I'm playing the streaks. I pretty much look at a few games and go with my basic formula of going against a really cold team or going with a hot team in a given circumstance. I also rely on historical data dating back to last season sometimes 2 years it just depends. But once my streak hits 6 I start to look deeper as the pressure mounts. I tend to over analyze and start second and third guessing myself. Inevitably I seem to pick the wrong game and the other games l looked at turn out to be right. Very frustrating because it seems that if I just trust my gut more in that situation my streaks would last longer. Perhaps Crush or Whitesmith can share their thoughts on this and how they handled the pressure of high streaks since you guys have the highest streaks of $25 Dime Club Members.
I will stop here because carpal tunnel syndrome is setting in.
Good luck on your streaks!
