    Day 5 Recap

    Most Gladiators Hold It Steady!

Day 5 brought no real progress as most Gladiators held their positions. We had some early movement by Upset City and Crushalot but both fell back after the late results came through. Brackson went 0-2 but Degosfinest couldn't take advantage because he went 1-1.

The first weekend is now upon us and the pressure will start to mount as the Gladiators in the lower half of the standings need to make a move now or it's going to be tough for them to qualify. Unstoppable Force who had a bad start has rebounded nicely and did finally crack the Top 10. He can serve as motivation for the other Gladiators who are currently at the bottom. It can be done but you have to be patient and pick the right Underdogs. This weekend will sort out who the contenders and pretenders are.

    Day 6 Recap

T-Rexarms On Epic Losing Streak At 13 As Carnage Builds!

The blood is flowing in the Battle Forum and it's getting ugly. Newbie T-Rexarms is on a record losing streak in the Battle Forum at 13 in a row. But T-Rexarms isn't the only Gladiator suffering from the carnage. Manhands who isn't a newbie has lost 14 of the last 15 games Ouch!

Even traditional Battle Forum powers like Mondo, Unstoppable Force and Smoothd are being pummeled. Mondo is losing points everday. Unstoppable can't get any traction and Smoothd has lost 7 of the last 9 including 3 in a row today. Crushalot who had been hot lost 341 points today going 0-3. Like we said it hasn't been pretty in the Battle Forum and the beatdowns have been continuous.

The only Gladiators to make any significant improvement was Brackson who extended his lead over Degosfinest. Bradytime took over the 7th and last spot to advance by gaining 109 points. Upset City gained 111 points to move up to the 12th spot.

As we enter into Sunday and the Halfway mark it's time for the Gladiators at the bottom to start winning or they will going home early. It doesn't take long in the Battle Forum to get your walking papers. So the pressure is on those Gladiators to start putting together winning days.

    Day 7 Recap

Thedeakon Breaks Out The Big Weapons!

Thedeakon has soared to 2nd Place with a 3-0 Sunday to close out the 1st Half of this opening Round. Thedeakon gained 338 points to pull within striking range of the leader Brackson.

Meanwhile Upset City is steadily climbing back up the standings and is now in 8th place. He has posted gains in 3 of the last 4 days. There is going to be quite a battle for the 7th and last spot for the Quarterfinals. Bradytime, Crushalot, Upset City and laying low  in the woods is Masterone who has been quiet but steady.

In other developments congrats to T-Rexarms for breaking that ugly 13 game losing streak. Now we need Manhands to snap out his funk as he has now lost 16 of his last 17 games including 8 in a row. If you can lose that many in a row you can also win that many in a row.

The 2nd half kicks off tomorrow and anything can happen as we have seen before in the Battle Forum. Nobody is safe just yet but the Top 3 Brackson, Thedeakon and Degosfinest are looking awfully strong right now.

It's been a busy day here in the Battle Forum but no one was busier than Manhands who posted a record 533 points gained. It's been a rough Tournament for Manhands so far but today was his day and who knows, with days like today he could still qualify for the Quarterfinals.

Brackson moved back into 1st Place as Thedeakon despite going 2-1 couldn't keep up with Brackson as he scored 389 points by going 2-0.

It looks like it's going be a wild finish as WBellhaven took the last spot from SBLCapital.  Hashbrowns is't too far behind and could figure in deciding which teams make to the Quarterfinals.

    Day 10 Summary

    1. Thedeakon 1078 points
    2. Brackson 843 points
    3. Grambus  571 points
    4. Degosfinest 276 points
    5. WBellhaven 264 points

    8. Upset City 37 points
    9. Pillsbury -89 points
    10. Masterone -98 points

Thedeakons tightens his grip on 1st Place. Smoothd suffers another heartbreaking loss. His 4th 9th Inning Blown Save and get this, the 3rd game in a week loss by a Wild Pitch. The odds of that happening 3 times in a week is astronomical indeed.

    Day 11 Recap

UPSET CITY IS BACK IN THE MONEY!

Upset City has turned it around but it also came from some help from other Gladiators. Upset City gained only 63 points despite going 2-1 on the day. That's because Crush and SBLCapital lost points. Crush lost 67 points and SBLCapital lost 148 points. Every point is precious now at this stage of the tournament.

The Battle for the 6th and 7th spot is definitely going to be exciting as the Gladiators prepare for Weekend action. Upset City, Crush, Pillsbury, SBL Capital, and Masterone will be the Gladiators with the spotlight on them as they vye for the last 2 spots in the Quarterfinals.

    Day 12 Recap

    UPSET CITY IS ROLLING!

Upset City continues it's hot streak as he has now shot up to 3rd Place in this round. Upset City went 3-0 to gain 318 points. He has won 13 of 20 and has gone from being written off to a solid finish in the 1st Round. As Brackson continues to struggle losing 9 of 11 Upset City is closing in on 2nd Place. The Gladiators would like to see a possible matchup between Upset City and Degosfinest since it would be the first time the Brothers would face off in the Battle Forum. Oh what a match that would be.

Meanwhile the drama continues to build for the 7th and last spot. Pillsburydough is making a strong surge here going 9-3 in the last and gaining points everyday. He still has work to do in these last 2 days and will need some help. Masterone is still very much in the picture gaining 335 points in the last 3 days and looking good. The wheels have come off for SBLCapital but he can rebound with a 5-1 finish and some help from the Gladiators in front of him.

    DAY 13 RECAP

    BRACKSON PUTS THE SMACK DOWN!

Brackson played his pimp hand on Thedeakon and Upset City at the same time. Brackson could have played it safe and be content with 3rd place in the 1st Round but this Gladiator has ice in his veins and sees the big picture. Brackson used his strategy of playing big Underdogs to pull the ultimate surprise on Thedeakon and Upset City. Brackson went 3-0 while Thedeakon went 1-2 and Upset City played it safe going 1-0. Obviously Thedeakon felt that Brackson wasn't going to shut it down and tried to prevent the takeover to no avail. The advantage of finishing 1st in this round is that you will get the #7 seed in the Quarterfinals and avoid the Champ until the last round.

The biggest story other than Brackson is Masterone. Masterone has played this 1st Round like a chess game. He laid low for the most of the round not winning alot but avoiding huge losses. But in the last few days Masterone has become true to his name. He's gone 8-2 and  topped it off with a 3-0 day today and that's good for a gain of 326 points. Combine that with Crush's loss of 140 points today and Masterone has shot up to 5th Place. Now the pressure is on Crush to go 3-0 as he tries to chase to WBellhaven for the last spot to qualify for the Quarterfinals.

It's going to be interesting tomorrow to see how this plays out. Can Crush catch WBellhaven? Will Masterone lay low or try to climb higher in the standings. How about Upset City and Thedeakon. Will they challenge Brackson and risk going lower in the rankings? What will Brackson do? Are we headed for an epic matchup between the 2 Brothers Degosfinest and Upset City? So many questions and they will all be answered tomorrow right here in the Battle Forum.

    Day 14 Recap

    Grambus Pulls a Surprise Attack!

It was a much quieter end to Round 1 of the Battle Forum than expected. I think we got spoiled by the dramas of Battle Forums II & III. Crush attempted to pull another rabbit out of his hat but he crashed and burned. But Grambus has balls of steel. In what could have been a disastrous move Grambus played 2 games and won to beat out Upset City for the 3rd spot. That move also spoiled the possibility of the Brothers Degofinest and Upset City squaring off.

You have to give Grambus. He avoided the 6th spot which would have put him on course with a date Thedeakon. Grambus took the chance and succeeded but if he would have failed and Crush or Pillsburydough would have gone 3-0 we would be singing a different tune. But the reality is Grambus did gamble and it paid off handsomely for him. Congratulations to all of the Gladiators moving forward to the next round. Job well done!

The Quarterfinals features the best Gladiators in the Battle Forum. They fought hard to get here and now they will battle Head to Head to see who advances and who will be eliminated. It's not going to be easy but then again it wasn't meant to be. When the new Battle Forum Champ is crowned he will know that he is the Best of the Best on Covers. He will also have the coveted Battle Forum Trophy as a lifetime memento of his worthy accomplishment. Tonight these 8 Gladiators take the next step in that conquest!

    Quarterfinals Analysis

    Grambus vs Upset City

Grambus has done well in the Battle Forum. He's continuing the tradition of newbies reaching the Quarterfinals but I think the quest ends here. Grambus is going up against an experienced Gladiator in Upset City who is also a former Battle Forum Champ. It's a different dynamic when it's head to head and I think Upset City has the advantage over Grambus in this match.

    Thedeakon vs Degosfinest

No doubt this is the most intriguing matchup of the Quarters. Two Gladiators who both have something to prove. Thedeakon the pride of Canada has proven to be a worthy Gladiator making it to the Quarterfinals 2 Tournaments in a row. ? But unfortunately Thedeakon finds himself once again up against a very tough opponent in Degosfinest. Thedeakon had the highest win pct in the 1st Round so that gives him a slight edge. Degosfinest brings a chess match mind to the battle which has served him well in the past. This is a tough one to call but I give the slight edge to Degosfinest in a very tough battle.

    Brackson VS Masterone

This is yet another interesting matchup featuring Brackson and Masterone. Brackson of course as everyone knows is the King of Streak Survivor with a streak of 24 an All Time high. Brackson has shown his flexibility with his performance in the Battle Forum. He has revolutionized the approach. Despite losing more games than he won Brackson finished the 1st Round in 1st Place by wagering exclusively on big Underdogs in Baseball. It's a strategy that has paid off for him. Will he change his strategy now that we're doing head to head battles? I don't know. But I do know that Masterone played a masterful 1st round. Masterone basically laid low and then suddenly the last 4 days went on  a torrid streak to finish 6th. Two very different approaches from 2 very different Gladiators in a clash of styles. I give the edge to Brackson in this match because of his uncanny ability to pick winning Underdogs.

    Atlanta vs WBellhaven

It's the Champ versus the Quiet Assasin in this matchup. Atlanta is the current Battle Forum Champ. He always seems to be in contention no matter what contest it is. He is simply good no matter the format and it's one of the reasons why he's had so much success in the Battle Forum. We don't expect him to change anytime soon. WBellhaven doesn't say much but he always seems to be in the mix. He's just not making much noise and doesn't talk much. WBellhaven is methodical in his picks but wins on a consistent basis. The thing about the Battle Forum though is sometimes the conservative approach doesn't work very well. I'm not sure if WBellhaven can handle Atlanta if Atlanta gets hot. I give the edge to Atlanta who is capable of going on torrid streaks to obliterate opponents.

GRAMBUS CONTINUES TO POUND UPSET CITY!

Grambus continued his assault on Upset City pummeling him to the tune of a 312 point gain today. Grambus is straight rolling right now to the delight of his fans who serenaded their hero as the points piled up. At this point the only person upset is Upset City himself as he finds himself in the early hole. But we've seen this movie before and we know that Upset City is more than capable of coming back especially at this early stage of the matchup.

    THE CHAMP IS CRUISING!

Atlanta continues to romp over WBellhaven. They were playing Queens "We are the Champions" tonight in the Battle Forum as Atlanta fans were basking in the awesome display of pure power as Atlanta looks virtually unstoppable in this Quarterfinals match. WBellhaven is looking stunned at the moment. Hopefully WBellhaven can come back strong tomorrow to give the Champ some sort of challenge.

DEGOSFINEST SLIPS BUT THEDEAKON SLIPS MORE!

It wasn't pretty in Arena 2 in the Battle Forum as both Gladiators had negative points. Degosfinest lost a heartbreaker deep into the night in Seattle as they beat Detroit. Thedeakon had his 2nd bad day in a row and is picking a bad time to fall into a mini slump. We will see what happens tomorrow but it appears that neither Gladiator will be taking the conservative approach.

MASTERONE GREETED BY FANS WITH A BOOS

The Fans let Masterone know their displeausure when he made his way back to the Battle Forum after an undislosed reason for missing the beginning of the match. The real Fans didn't need a reason they know how big this matchup is. The fact that Masterone was rumored to be in Mexico at one of those Cantinas that SBLCapital goes to that wasn't enough for the hard core fans. Brackson hasn't shown anything like he did in the 1st Round. The fans got restless and the boos rained down. Will the reaction of the crowd be enough to get these 2 Gladiators going? We will see.

WTF!!!! I must have smoothd's curse in the second round.A heavy favorite with a -200 can't beat an inferior team.Especially with their best pitcher.Favorites already cost me -900 points.

I think I'm going to go drown my sorrows in a few cold ones!!!

GRAMBUS KNOCKS UPSET CITY TO THE CANVAS!

Grambus made sure that any thought of an Upset City comeback would have to be put aside for the moment. Grambus came out like somebody kissed his girlfriend. He gained 326 points while Upset City lost 137. This is starting to get ugly and we haven't even reached the 1st Weekend yet.
