WORLD CUP TODAY PLAYS (6/22)

Was a bad read or shall I say bad play on my part for the UNDER 2.5 in the Egypt game.  I squarely liked the Pharaohs then started to believe they hadn't won a game and maybe that would happen again.  Even though they really made me regret that choice in putting together a great performance.  New Zealand suck, nothing more to it.

I'm posting these early plays because I love them, I am going to play them because the lineups won't change enough to affect their outcome.  If Messi plays, which he will, this will win.  And if Mbappe plays, which he will, this will win.

I'd love to go 2 for 2 and Argentina wont' have a walk in the park. But Argentina have scored before half-time in eight successive games and Austria have scored 15 of their last 17 World Cup goals after half-time.  I know Argentina are going to want to jump ahead and while the opponent it reputable at #24, Argentina is #1 after all.  And Messi will be alive for the big crowd in Dallas.

In the following game, my French squad take the field wanting to continue the momentum they had at the end of their first match against Senegal.  It was far from a great performance and the French are OF COURSE going to want to come out and score as much as they can knowing it might come down to goal differential if they somehow tie with Norway.  And what better opponents to try and come out strong against and score goals in bunches against than Iraq.  Can't find the real value in the first half line on France but I certainly can in this:

I mean please.  If Norway can get 4 against Iraq, and I know Norway is good, but how many do you think France can get.  Let's just say 5...then I should also add...

When Mbappe or Dembele or Doue or whomever get tired, they don't just get replaced by marginal guys.  They will get replaced by guys named Ryan Cherki, or Bradley Barcola, or Marcus Thuram.  Who will then go against a tired Iraq back line and continue to pile it on.  

I just wanted to post these tonight in case something happened but I'm playing these with confidence tonight.  Will be back at some point tomorrow but, as always, tail or fade, good luck to all...

What are your goalscorer thoughts for France? If they are going to put up 5 goals, there are gonna be several guys with goals & assists.....but Mbappe lines are silly.....Olise/Dembele to score or assist look like decent parlay partners.....

Great question. I was gonna add on that and wait until lineups are announced. My feeling is they will start out slightly different so I’m gonna see who is playing with Mbappe. I too agree the odds on mbappe are nuts BUT that’s bc it’s as much a lock as possible. Remember this is soccer not baseball and when you get those types of odds it’s usually for good reason but more so on props 

I’m hoping Mateta starts he’s had an awesome season. As has Thurman but he’s been just getting back from injury. I’ll be back later after lineups to properly assess that but just depends on who’s out there tbh.

Hmmm...I think at some point Argentina doesn't win every game, maybe a draw.  Austria is really good and have been on fire, so I expect they will be very disciplined and are very well coached.  BUT....they tend to score their goals in the 2nd half so that's why I'm not on the FG with Argentina and see value in the HT line.

I'll be watching and I do love Messi so pulling for him but these early games have shown that upsets can occur via a tie so just my gut feeling.  I have been wrong plenty so I might be again but the play literally popped out of my screen when I read that bit.

Is smash play I’m assuming a larger play then big play?

@Detroitslum As an always say, that's up to you.  I dont' want to lead people down a broken path.  I'm not 100% on the plays but if it's a smash I'm about as close to thinking that as I will be.  But then again the ball needs to hit the back of the net for us to cash so just trying to be of help.

i will have to look at that but the way France plays could actually help them capitalize on slippery Iraqi defenders. Wonder if there is a play for yes penalty. I’d take a stab at that with slippery fields I’m sure it’s super high odds
