TOURNAMENT: 16-7 (BIG PLAY: 5-2)
Wow, what a busy morning! I love this game, I am half French after all, but I"m so tight with time today. I think it's interesting that all 3 favorites today are highly priced over -200. I think it's warranted, Iraq is the worst of all the teams (though they somehow tied Spain, maybe the Spanish are not what everyone thinks they are?), I think Jordan backed into this Cup and Austria is a legit team that has been on fire of late.
Speaking of legit teams, France are the favorites to win the Cup (arguably) and for good reason. They are stacked everywhere and have a ton of firepower all over the field. BUT...they do give up goals and Senegal, despite the controversy at the end of the AFCOM finals, are the champions of Africa and can score. If the USA can beat Senegal, then France certainly can.
I had a huge play on over 1.5 goals with France but I think that is too expensive now. Might parlay it with Austria. Why not parlay with France? Well, the ONLY time they have not won their first game in recent years was in 2002, when they lost to...Senegal. But that was a different team, with a lot of in-fighting, and these are stalwarts of the sport. I just feel these early games have been a bit tricky when the matchup is not a cupcake (see Germany) so there isn't much value here in France to win. I am going to play these for the France game and will certainly be back for the Norway game:

if you can't get some of those to parlay, here are a few more I'm playing...
YES BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (SENEGAL/FRANCE) -110...BIG PLAY!!!: REALLY not sure why this is so low unless they expect a game like the one we witnessed with Spain yesterday but truth be told the Spanish could have scored numerous times. France has a few #9's so they won't miss from close range and they WILL get on the scoresheet. I think the French defense can give up a goal and the quality with the Senegalese forwards can create one.
IF I think both teams will score, and France gets more than 1, then I guess it's safe to also play..

No, this won't be a trend but this is how I feel about this game and about a team I really love. I'm not trying to pad the record, the parlay might after all not cash, but I do see an uptempo game with a couple of teams that can score and with one that could very well end up champions.
One thing of concern...as good as France have been in group play (disasters in 2002 and 2010), they have tied games as well. That is why the BTTS is a sort of insurance barring the French mimicking the inept play of the Spaniards yesterday. I will be back in a bit but, as always, tail or fade, good luck to all...
