Whenever me and the wife go to a nice place and the food is great I make it a habit of personally complementing the chef. 90%of the time he/she will come out to thank you at which point I make small talk about the food/industry and the fact we will be celebrating our anniversary next month. I have gotten free botte of wine/champagne with our next visit including 2-3 fully comped meals free desserts etc.bigsmile The wife thinks I'm crazy but no complaints. I DO TIP HEAVY if I get these perks so its win win
