Hi - I only typically post soccer wagers. However, I'm posting my Best Bets for tomorrow's derby.
I'm taking a chance that the track is dry - but questionable on that.
Horse that wins last raced in Arkansas (+400) Oaklawn Park has a great. Putting aside the bias I have for my awesome adopted state and the fact that my daughters grew up standing on the rail at Oaklawn, ... this seems like a positive value bet for multiple closing horses in what should be a speed race involving 20/19/ and maybe (ICRRN) 12?
RACE MATCH U P: Sandman beats Luxor Cafe (-120) HUGE!!!! No Japanese trained horse is going to ever cross the line before a horse that won the Arkansas Derby. Yeah - there was FP, but that horse was different.
RACE MATCH UP: Sandman beats Journalism (+170). Sandman two races ago stumbled in a bad way out of the gate . . . still closed the field without the slightest concern of dirt in his face -finished second. I wager that Journalism and his stalker pace gets abosrbed by Sandman at the end.
Winning distance (under 1.5 lengths) (-105) HUGE (this is a pace fight)

You are not worried about Sandman’s post position? Never produced a derby winner. Ever. I know you are not betting to win but you would think competitive to beat others would have to be in the running to win.
