25/26 European Soccer Plays

Starting a couple weeks late but excited to get started. Looking at plays on the hour today.

1. Novi Pazar/Jagiellonia - Not the start to the season the visitors wanted after getting completely (and unexpectedly) whomped at home against one of the new upcomers. I still believe this team will be in the race all season to recapture domestic glory after coming up short last season. Don’t forget this team put up a decent fight against Betis in this same competition last season. After the shellacking they got at home on Friday, I’m expecting Imaz and company to come out possessed in the 1H

Nice to cash that early. Had Midtjy/Hibernian lined up but goal came early. Moving on.

2. Besiktas/Shakhtar - My fave game on the board today. We know Ole favors attacking football and I’m sure he’s excited to try out his new center forward in former Chelsea man Tammy Abraham, who I think provides a better target upfront than Immobile from last season. Expecting some goals here.

3. Lugano/CFR Cluj - Two teams who can find the back of the net. Liking the fact that both of Cluj’s European games didn’t feature a 1H goal and that they kept a clean sheet over the two games against Paks. They’re due to give one up.

Plays: 1H over 0.5 (-109)

Bet came after the missed PK, but not sure why Munteanu didn’t take it. Still can’t see this game ending scoreless with the Swiss knowing they’re going to be in an uphill battle in a week.

Plays : Over 1 (-134) push at worst 

Complete misread on the Lugano/Cluj but surprising nonetheless that neither side could score. Probably will hit the second leg 1H over HARD knowing both have eyes for goals.

4. Arka Gydnia/Radomiak - Home opener for the newcomers who averaged ~2 goals a game in the second division last season. Love the angle here w/ them unlucky to not find the net in the league opener last week. Don't know what got into the visitors last week doing a number on perennial top four finishers in Pogon but Radomiak do tend to see goals in their matchs.

Plays: Live 1H over 1 (+111), 1H over 0.75 (-150)

Glad that second goal got called off in Poland. Think we’ll see at least one more.

5. Pogon/Motor - Referred to this yesterday but again surprised with Pogon's lackluster showing at Radomiak last week. Motor, too, also had a substandard performance in front of goal but we'll see if that continues after letting go their top goalscorer of last season in Samuel Mraz. Leaning goals here. Bit of a juice but almost certain we see a 1H goal.

 Wrapped up that win real quick. Had to drink the juice but much rather do that than miss the train.

6. St. Gallen/FC Basel - Swiss champs defense starts today. They were offensive juggernauts last season domestically and think they'll be eager to pick up where they left off.

7. Bohemians/Slavia Praha - Czech Champions didn't get their defensive campaign off to a great start after getting surprisingly held at home to a draw in the opener last week. They return the same three up front from last season including Chory and Kusej who both finished in the top five goalscorers domestically with 27 goals between them. Love taking totals involving tops team on the road against mid-ranked oppositions as I feel the dogs tend to be more offensive-minded than in the reverse fixture. Last four at Bohemians ground saw a 1H goal and think that trend continues today.

8. Jagiellonia/Widzew Lodz - Was waiting for odds on 1H over 1 to get better and ended up missing the train smh. With goals flying in Poland this weekend, expected Jagiellonia to come out firing after getting shellacked at home in their opener. Was my play of the day but going to cut the bet a bit after missing on that first goal. Still expecting my fave team to bet on in Poland for totals to put this away in the 1H with a second leg Conference League tilt on the horizon.

9. Nordsjaelland/Brondby - No time for writeup but two teams more than capable of finding the net.

Lots of pushes this morning  can’t get that winning goal. Think we see one more in Denmark.

Plays: Live over 1.75 (-150)

10. Drita/Copenhagen - Home dogs down 2-0 on aggregate. First leg in Denmark featured the Danish champions dominating possession while the visitors parked the bus. I see this game as being much more open with the Kosovo side needing to make this deficit up in a hurry. Copenhagen has a tendency to play down to their competition, especially on the road. See btts and a 1H goal.

Plays: Live 1H over 1 (-113), live btts (-102)

Lucky to have escaped that 1H with a goal smh. Can't cap for red cards. Think btts to score is essentially dead unless Copenhagen takes their foot off the gas completely and Drita get lucky.

11. Differdange/TNS - Have a general rule of thumb that over two legs, should see 2+ goals minimum for most ties. Home side has the lead so Welsh will have to chase this game. TNS had a similar script in their Champs League round against Shkendija. If I'm getting over 1 at fairly close to even money, I'll bite.
