But he does have a point about how certain players get preferential treatment because of their status in the league
I agree totally but I can think of players in Rugby and EPL (past and present) that get special treatment in games also. You could probably include motorsport, NBA, Jockeys etc etc but I don't watch enough to know specifically.
Ricky can whinge all he wants but in the end its just excuses for another poor performance by Parra. He had the same excuses at the Sharks and Roosters. If the game is so corrupt with the refs, why agree to stay coaching in it.
Take a leaf from Cleary's book, he put up with bad call after bad call while coaching the warriors but barely even used the refs as an excuse.

I know Rostos but didn't he say that he wasn't complaining about the amount of penalties the eels got. He just couldn't believe that Titans only did 1 discretion. Has anyone reviewed if that was an issue?

Yeah the point of saying he was about to blow the whistle then just warned... that's a worry.
Is the problem there with the double ref then? Two levels of consistency?
I'm not protecting the refs but the special treatment of players is across all/most sport.
Inconsistent refereeing affects some clubs more than others but if the eels didn't cause as many penalties in that 2nd half then they probably would have won anyway.
8 penalties in 1 half is shocking, he shouldn't be saying how he feels sorry for the team. In my opinion anyway.
