off the top of my head, how about the finals is 1v16, 2v15....8v9. Still makes it 4 weeks of finals and lower teams still have something to play for (easier week 1 game, chance to progress, etc)

Let me tell you a little something about people like Adam of the Telegraph,apparently he wants free transport and can't afford to go watch his team play but he does the following when he gets home from work on friday


# Buys a case of Beez Neez for 60 odd bucks at Dan Murphys
# Logs onto Sportingbet and puts $50 on Souths -2 and $50 on Dragons -5




$160 spent in less then 30 mins,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Do you mean the loser teams can play for a wildcard spot?

That's one reason for clubs to end their regular season with their counterpart. A chance for a non playoff club to ruin a playoff or playoff contenders chances.

No argument from me there. Hence my reasoning behind the divisional play and a 22 week schedule instead of 24, and using those byes and work around Origin.

Sure it does, but it makes for  better pre drama if a rival is involved.

I also think this would help at selling out home grounds more often.

The wife is taking the boy to the Manly/Parra match, and she told me they are doing this end of match thing with the public getting jerseys and stuff signed on the field like the old days.

I think more of this promo stuff should be done aimed at the younger crowd, especially if they showed that scene on TV for 5-10 minutes while they are interviewing the man of match.

big games at the end of the season are always sold out. You don't need to promote the game then, its the run of the mill weeks that need promotion

cutting ticket prices in half would help crowds. NRL clubs have no clue about economies of scale
