Battler's NSW Origin Team Game 1

Matt Cooper is one of the best defensive centres in the game.

He's a plodder though, unfotunately.

We need to win. Not try not to lose.

Stewart has 7 rounds to prove he hasn't lost his form of last year which in that case I would start him and have Gidley off the bench in a utility role. Get him away from the first 15min early exhanges and let him run amok for 65 minutes.

 

Monaghan is in my side, just not sure where to play him. Hayne will get a run on one wing as well.

Prefer Mullen to Wallace.

I'm a massive Laffranchi fan, he should figure somewhere.

Can't have Gallen. As much as the guy has passion, which he oozes, we need punch. Not a loose-cannon.

Yeah, upon reflection I'd probably go with 4 forwards on the bench. I can handle Young though, he can fill in at hooker, 5/8 or play as a forward. I forgot him to be honest.

Young in for Wing.

Weyman would stuggle with the pace, he'd only be good for 10 minute blocks.

Can't have Gallen though

He only needed the one game to convince me, he is in my NSW team. We need him, out and out gamebreaker 

I'm not saying Gidley shouldn't be in the team in some form, but at fullback I don't think NSW can really afford to not select Stewart just on his ability to get across the tryline.
