Washington at Atlanta (11/08/2009)

I like Washington a lot more after reading all of this.  I believe with all of the Atlanta love the line should be moving in that direction but so far its not.  Everyone in hear is saying atlanta easy, but I really like the redskins to play a close one here and maybe win.

I always respect your picks and keep your capping to mind.  That said, I will tell you that I've played quite a few games this year using the same rationale that you posted above, and have not faired well. 

That taught me to start looking deeper into why.

If you look at the games that ATL has played, you'll see that they played @NE, @SF, @DAL and @NO.   Those games should definitely lower your rankings on both sides of the ball.

WAS has really only played 2 decent teams in the Eagles & Giants.  The rest were against this years 'scrubs'; STL, DET, TB, CAR & KC. (They don't get OAK 'til 12/13). Imagine how a teams rankings could be inflated with that schedule.

washington -10 is way too big a line, washington defense is pretty decent and strangely enough we are going to be playing better on the road than at home because currently we are not really supporting the team and it makes the team nervous at home

atl will not put up more than 21 pts on us, and the skins play UP and DOWN to their competition, always keeping it close. i know we lost to really bad teams this year, but we lose to bad teams every year, and beat some good ones.

 it even would of been close against philly 2 weeks ago who is a much better team if they hadnt given up the crappy turnovers pts, look for the offense to play conservative and the defense to rally early

so basically if washington can get a lucky td, and 2 fgs they will cover, which is what im pretty sure is going to happen

if you don't believe me atleast take the under...i dont even care what the under is...the game WILL go under.

I always like teams coming off of bye weeks not to mention Atlanta is coming off of a short week.  The skins D will keep this close for a while meaning....I like the points

too many points to give against a good defense....

Washington really impressed me agianst the Eagles last monday night in the 2nd half...

they can stop the run and keep this game close...

Plus I think having a bye week for Washington helps them offensively.... there should be more chemistry between the offense and the new offensive coordinator....

Man, I was really worried about this line I think it should be at least 12-13 pts. but half of the people on here like the skins, Not buying into Wash's D. they have played weak teams. lay the pts.

either ATL or no play here, Foreskin lost on the road to Detroit, even tho they held well against Gmen which is the 1st game when everyone is healthy, held well against the Eagle in 2nd half since they are at home and McNab....(not much to say about someone who call timeout when you dont have any and embarass lost to Oakland).

ATL 2 road lost, could be a big redemtion here and just take it out on the Foreskin, but definately no upset on to be found in the dome come this Sunday. This is the NFL guys.

1   Washington's offense is horrible.  Campell is not an NFL starter, they have no receivers, Poris is past his prime and the only weapon (Cooley) is injured.

2   Washington's defense is decent and keeps them in games (the dog is 5-1-1 in Skins games this year and every game has been decided by ten points or less).  Sa what you will about the horrible schedule, but they played the Giants close in week 1 on the road and lost to Philly by 10 last week, if they do that again, its right on the line.

3   Atlanta is a playoff team last year and looks every bit like one this year as well playing the Saints close and absoluting destroying a decent Niners team.  The Falcons really needs this game after two straight losses and prbably won't underestimate the Skins. 

Don't expect the Skins to score more than 13 points (i expect less than ten on the road), meaning if you take them a parlay with the under is almost a must.  I cannot fathom a way that they score the 17 to 20 that tey would need to cover and go over.  The line feels about right given the skins D, which means the under is probably the way to go (thinking 20-6 or somewhere in there) but I don't trust a motivated Matt Ryan not to score 45 points like he did against a Niner team that kept giving him chances.

Hesitantly taking the Falcons while fully aware that the only time a favorite has covered a line in the skins game was last week. 

Teasing Atlanta and the Patriots.

STRONGLY considering a big bet on atl...i am recovering die hard chiefs fan, and they are a little bit better than an arena league team.  They beat the skins at home...skins are awful...that being said...this worries me that it is a "trap" game.  It almost seems too easy to pick...gonna place my bet in the next hour or so while i still have that 1/2 point...any feedback would be great...

How bad is redskins and is Atl really that good? The honeymoon is over for Ryan but he plays good at home can Redskins run they cant pass. Spread at 8.5 this might be a stay away game

Falcons -9

vegas just doesn;'t give away money and the way people are just taking atlanta is just plain scary. I'm going to fade the public bigtime because despite all the money coming in on Atlanta, the bookies are moving the line down as opposed to against atlanta.

The Falcons are the square play of the day. Don't be a sucker.

Damn I promised myself I would NEVER TAKE THE FORESKINS AGAIN.  I''ve never seen a worse QB than Jason Cambell.  He just looks plain stupid!  His offensive line isn't any better. Hiking the damn ball to the side on the 4th n goal against Philly.  Just plain dumb!  Cambell cannot run, cannot pass, and Portis is washed up. 

With this in mind, I saw the reverse movement in the spread. Down to 9 from opening of 10. hmmmm. gona bite my tongue and take them Foreskins again on this one.

Why did this line drop to 9 with over 70% of the plays on the Falcons. Seems rather strange. I'll be staying away. Good luck to those who play.
