If this were on the road I would say sure, let's take the 7' points as NE was not a good ATS team on the road.  NE is home though and this is week 3 so the starters are playing most of this game.  NE not only wins and covers but will totally outclass this STL team.  The combo of Brady/Hoyer is just too much offense for a team depending on a rookie at QB to keep up.  It will get ugly.

sam bradford starting for rams,has'nt shown much so far.brady and co. to play 1st half,keeping rams off the field.looking at the under right now,along with pats-7.will wait to pull the trigger 'til near game time.

There was a time when Bill Belichick went all out to win these games as he started his coaching career in the preseason going 13-4. He has since had a losing straight up record at 12-14. Steve Spagnuolo has issues to deal with here as he attempts to change the culture of losing with the Rams. He has a 4-2 mark in the preseason which includes finishing on a winning note a perfect 2-0 in week three and four. Yes, this is the most "real" game of the preseason, with starters typically seeing the most action. But, 7.5 points is a ton in the preseason. Lines above 7 have occured only three times in the past seven years. The ATS record of the dog in those games? 3-0.

If you are going to take the Points, I would buy it to 12 (3 more). But the Pats are going to play and play hard tonight in front of the fans, for the win, at home, in Gillette.

Something tells me that the Pats are going to win by no more than 7 points.

I do not have a problem with NE laying 7 or even 9.  Past history of other teams (3 times fav 7 or more the dog is 3-0).  It has no relevance here.  Let's not forget how bad STL is and where exactly is the offense coming from people?  Brady then Hoyer.  That's all you need to know.

Patriots -7 no doubt. It is time for the Patriots defense to shut down teams with rookie QB's regardless if its preseason or not. Then again, it's preseason.

You are right on Tex but like I said, somehow Rams might get "lucky" in the end...Pats don't have to blow them out all 4 quarters. I mean the score could be like 21-7 at the end of 3rd and Rams so desperate for a win leaving their starters in against a 2nd or 3rd string Pats...Pats could still win but may not cover...

I also believe Rams keeps this one close for some odd reason.
