The Seattle defense was 1st in the league in points allowed, has given up 17 or fewer in it's last 3 road wins, and they actually do have the kind of secondary (size) that can handle the Falcon wideouts (although Tony G is a problem for anyone). In my opinion, 30 + points is far from a lock.

All of the wildcard teams that have run to the Superbowl in recent years have overcome all of the above problems you listed and travel didn't seem to be an issue for Seattle last weekend, so I wouldn't be so quick to lose excitement for your futures wager partner.

I happen to think you were onto something when you laid it down.

One could argue that Matt Ryan is due to overcome his tendencies in this situation, as are the Falcons ... but are they really?

Isn't Tony Romo ready? Every single time?

Weren't Marv Levy's Buffalo Bills?

How bout Andy Reid's Eagles .... ?

If the Falcons were hosting the Redskins, or Tampa Bay, I'd feel a lot better about their chances, but they're up against a Seattle team that's beating people up in all three phases of the game.

Your Cam Newton point scares me.... I thought about it late last night.... but it's too late

I already put in a ML bet on ATL for all the money I won yesterday..... I'm on fire right now and my gut says ATL get it done at home...

Atlanta sports talk radio interview with asst coach. Atlanta will use a lot of no huddle offense to keep Seattle on the field, and exhaust them, taking advantage of the travel schedule and the early East Coast start of the game, 10am in Seattle TZ.

Seattle weakness is Truffant and Falcons will work the slot. So, there you have it, looks like Atlanta. Lynch injury could also factor into results if he gets hurt again. Easy pick. ATLANTA...

Game not as easy as I thought. Reminds me of Alabama/Notre Dame. Seattle victories are much more impressive than Atlanta's. Seattle beat the top teams, Atlanta beat the bottom feeders.

Seattle similar to Alabama
Atlanta similar to Notre Dame.

Nonetheless, Atlanta, but now I have excuse for a wrong pick:)

Matt Ryan and the Falcons haven't done garbage in the playoffs 0-3. After today they will be 0-4.

Seattle matches up very well against this team. Let's look:

Rushing offense (BIG edge: Seattle)
Total defense (BIG edge: Seattle)
Defense pts allowed (edge: Seattle)
SU / ATS record last 7 games (edge: Seattle)
SU / ATS record last 4 games (BIG edge: Seattle)
S.O.S. (edge: Seattle)
QB / Coach (edge: Atlanta?)

Don't underestimate how terrible that field was last week at Fedex. It was a joke -- a sandbox with paint over it. Indoors I expect the Hawks to fly. Remember their last indoor game against the Bills, 50-17? Russell Wilson rushed 3 touchdowns. The Falcons are terrible against these types of hybrid quarterbacks. Just take a look at Cam Newton's numbers this year against them -- he torched them both times!

Atlanta is easily the most overrated team in the NFL ( followed by a close Dallas second)

Don't be fooled into thinking they are going anywhere in these playoffs. Even when they win, it's by a lucky break and less then 3 pts. Seattle win run all over the weak D and keep it close and most likely win

Seattle gets in done and wins outright today. Take the points for EZ money if you want a sure thing

seattle has some injuries and back to back road games against a well rested team on the road layng 1 pt. , matt ryan has a great record at home , lynch is banged up and the falcons well rested wih the better wide recievers and good runnung game.

It points to a Falcon win. i could be wrong but my money is on them.

The way I see it a team with an opportunity to do what they DID not do in the playoffs last year has extra motivation. San Fran proved that convincingly last night. Falcons 34 Seattle 17...cash it!
