pittsburgh cannot score without big ben. tennessee on the other hand will confuse the pittsburgh D with vince young running the ball and throwing it. tennessee looks like a team that wants to take the championship. i called their huge win against oakland and will call their huge win against pittsburgh.

early bet tennessee -5

I think there is almost NO chance that Tennessee put up 38 point against the Steelers but I also think that there is NO chance for Pittsburgh to put up 15 points vs the Titans. This was the output for both teams last week end and Pitt need a TD in OT at HOME to achieve thier 15 point total. The Current line of TENN-5 seem fair enough to me and I think that once Tennessee scores thier first TD in the game they will maintain NO LESS that a 7 point lead for the entire remainder of the game. The Steelers defense will have to score for them to have a chance in this contest. Titans at home -5 is easily my selection here.

My Guesstimate - Tennessee-24 Steelers-13

Yeah I don't see Pittsburgh lettin up 24 points to Tennessee. They let up 9 points and only 58 yards rushing last week to an offense with a lot more weapons.

They also haven't allowed a 100-yard rusher on them since late 2007. And CJ hasn't done much against this defense in the past. He ran 16 times for 69 yards as a rookie in 2008 at Tennessee. And he ran 15 times for 57 yards last season in the opener at Heinz Field. This is a much better and different defense with Polamalu healthy. I think Lebeau will confuse Young with his blitzes and force some turnovers.

I also expect Pittsburgh to open up their playbook a little more for Dixon. For someone who made just his 2nd career start last week I though he did pretty well (18-26 for 236 and 1 int) and limited his mistakes.

Tennessee looked good last week but this isn't the Raiders they're playing.

Steelers can't do anything right offensively right without Ben. And they are playing a superbowl contending team on the road.

FIrst post on here.....Been reading some good insight for years..

The wonderlick score of VY will rear its ugly head in this game,as pitt's defense will confuse all day.The point spread does seem reasonable as dixon should have had 3 int.s last week rather than 1.PItts d should score in this game/Johnson should b somewhat corraled as well.I usually dont like teaser bets.....However.....6 pts to pitt to make them plus 11?Im all over that!!!!!!!.Probably connect that to a college fball total.......GL alll!!

"Key Cold, Hard Football Fact: Titans quarterback Vince Young is 27-13 through his first 40 NFL games. Tom Brady, the winningest QB in modern football history, was 28-12 in his first 40 pro starts."
Good teams win games, Great teams cover the spread!

Well if you're depending on beating a team on account of the QB's wonderlick score, you're team's in trouble. I have great respect for anyone who plays QB in the NFL. Mentally most all pass but a very few can transform that into successful action.

Again:

Tennessee - 25                            Pittsburgh - 13

Titans -5                             over 37

Don't see the Pitt QB Dixon having much success on the road vs this Titan defense. Partytime in Nashville, Titans go 2-0

You call beating Oakland a HUGE win? Please. Oakland was 5-11 LY and did nothing to improve at QB.

I like the Steelers even with Dixon at QB. For the Titans, you can't replace Keith Bulluck, Vanden Bosch and Mawae. Pittsburgh found out LY how hard it is to replace two great starters on D. Steelers D looked back to it's great self against Altanta's Matt Ryan, who is much better than a Heisman hopeful Vince Young.

Pittsburgh 23 - Titans 13

Your right Altoona betting against the black and gold can  up your bankroll. But for some crazy reason whenever a backup QB pulls off an upset win, I always fade them in their next game.  It certainly could be costly here.

going with the titans on this one. I have a stranger feeling that the lines are going to go up as game time approaches.

Pitt has a starting OT out.  And two back-ups at OT are out as well.  The other starter is Flozell Adams...and he is far from dependable after watching him the last years with the Cowboys.  That's alot missing at OT on an offense that needs to run the ball to take pressure off the QB, and also to protect Dixon.

The Injuries actually improve pitts chance for success in this game.Dixon can run,and will be forced to move pocket in this game due to o line injuries..Actually would have liked to see more of it last week vs. ATl.   Steeler d is fierce again w/  both safeties  in tact....Pitt has a fierce back up  nose tackle in Ziggy hood whom they groomed last year as they always do w/ rookie defense players......Pitt is the play
