can't disagree about San FRan.  both teams just SUCK.   I'm takin San Fran + 3.5 but I would make a small play at best.  it's almost like the playofs just want coach Mike to get fired. 

i'm sorry, I misread the spread  San Fran -3.5.  wait for it to go down to -3

    Loving the "soft line" due to Vicks injury. Kolb was designated the man in the beginning of the year. Reid  has been known to pull off miracles!

PHI +3.5 (4units): the public is pounding the niners, who are on a tail spin. Yeah they should've won several games SU, The line has been off for the niners all season long. The knee jerk reaction with Vick out & the niners nearly beating Atlanta makes this a good play....i'm just sayin.   Reid has a good ATS record West Coast and likes to be against the public.  My line was Phi +3.5, which makes me think the public perception is driving the line. Score: Eagles 33-Forty Niners 21.

the 49ers defense is solid and there offense is frank gore look for the 49ers to run the ball alot in this game. no michael vick means a slower ame kevin kolb didnt look sharp last week i expect him to have a better week but i see the eagles running the bal alot as well. take the under 38.

last meeting Philly forced Alex Smith into 3 INTS... I remember seeing 1 of them by Asante Samuel... he baited Smith into an awful throw and took it to the house....

Frank Gore will get his....

Eagles are still explosive, even without Vick.... Desean Jackson can run one back at any punt.....

I'm expecting a field position game with two mediocre offenses and two pretty solid defenses (Philly did look bad last week but they are a solid unit)

I'll take the points in this type of battle...

SF may get their first win but I highly doubt they'll cover 3.5

Positive SF gets the victory here, with the Eagles losing 2 huge weapons (in Vick and McCoy).  But it may be a close game....
So gonna ride with a SF ml & Dallas ml Parlay instead....BOLTA..

Vick and McCoy out.  So you can subtract 460 combined yards rushing.  And 11 total scoring TD's.  Kolb and Mike Bell in...41 combined rushing yards.  One TD total scoring.  I'd say that's a huge dropoff.  San Fran has yet to put it together but this would be the week to do it.  Philly is not a shutdown defense by any means.  SF on the ML.

I think if McCoy is ruled out that this might be a no-play for me...

Not to "dis" BreakaBookie (I normally find your posts to be mostly levelheaded) but I "dis"agree with echelon's logical argument on this one. You can't compare Vick and McCoy's stats with some other players who have had little to no opportunity.

Having said that, I do agree with the final analysis. I don't often get to watch games start to finish, but I did watch that NO @ SF game, and SF dominated -at times- in that game. If not for the fumble on that 10 minute drive, and then the turnover on a punt later, SF would have beat the superbowl champs at home.

This is my pick-em league game for the week and if I weren't forced to pick, I'd be taking my money elsewhere... from what I've seen in the NO game, and then the result against ATL last week, (a game I barely saw any of) I'm leaning SF ML

 --- my pick needs to be in by friday so if anyone can come up with a reasonable argument for taking the eagles on the road this week, coming off an emotional win, without two of their star players, and against a team looking for their first win of the season in only their second home game... I'd love to hear it.

if im up i`ll take san fran for shits n giggles. philly is not that good and san fran has benn in every game. i just think its their week being on national TV and with the QB flopping back n forth in philly. olus philly is coming across country. dont know how much that plays into it but i just like SAFN RAN here.

also isnt philly`s RB out too this week

Staying away, PHI will control this game with McCoy. Kolb is still better than Smith.

The niners at home, and their defense will keep it close...too close to call and too close to lay any kind of points. especially a FG.
