Oakland at Houston (10/04/2009)

Oakland is the worst team in the league.  They can't move the ball and Russell is not an nfl quarterback--he threw for 1 yard in the 2nd half last week.  Oakland will struggle to score points even with Houston's porous run defense which I'm sure will be a focus at practice this week--hopefully with results.  Oakland cannot keep up with this team and I think Houston will play aggressively on offense throughout.  Remember, Houston will have revenge on their minds after losing at Oakland last year as 7 point favorites. 

 

however I think all we need in this game is this simple fact..

 

The writing's on the wall for Jamarcus Russell and it says, you suck.

 

I'll be taking houston -9 and involing them in 2 team tease, other team to be determined.

Raider +9.5. Nami shuts down Andre Johnson. Last time they met Johnson only had 2 catches for 19 yds. Bush and Mcfadden combine for 900 yds. And Russel just looks bad in this one instead of like complete, fill in the blank.

Good luck mr pro-z.  And I agree that Nnamdi is one of the best if not the best corner in the league and Chris Johnson is a another great young db.  After all I'm from the bay area myself and have gotten a good look at these guys.  But on the offensive side..not only does oakland not have a quarterback, they don't have any receivers.

 

You have to wonder why the Raiders didn't keep a proven veteran like Jeff Garcia on the roster.  Well its because the Raiders overpaid Russell are they sticking to it no matter what..its what they do.  Why..because you simply can't have 31 million dollars sitting on your bench.  Based on his play, there's no way this guy would be starting on this team or any other. 

 

It's been rumored that he doesn't watch film and that he seems to have poor work ethic.  and why not?  He's already gotten his 31 guaranteed and that seems to be enough for him.  He's not a competitor and you just have to wonder how long the rest of the players on the team will fight for him, especially in such a tough league.  Think something like this doesn't have an effect on a football game?  I see this team finishing 3-13 at best. 

 

and I surely can't imagine wagering any money on them.

I think there's no better indicator of his work ethic than the fact that after a poor season last year he's somehow managed to become worse this year.

the texans coverd a 10 point spread maybe once against a sorry ass oakland team which is way better this year. you will see what am talking about come game time. my picks are no joke i went 8-9 last week good luck to you

Both teams are bad with talent.  The organizations dont know how to win.  This is not a game to load up on by any means.

Raiders can cover because Texans have looked bad this year, or Texans can cover because they are at home with very talented players on the team.

pro-z..its not enough to say that week 1 the raiders lost to san diego by four points so houston is incapable of beating them by 10.  well..what about denver beating them by 20 points?

 

of course the score of a game is a great indicator of what happened..but theres a lot more that goes into and often times a score is misleading of a teams actual performance in that game or their true ability level.  I actually had raiders +10 in that game and felt lucky to have won.  If the same game was played again this week I would take san diego.

 

by the way, one good week doesn't mean your a pro.  let me know if you make it through the season with a positive bank roll and then I'll be impressed.
