The spread was SD -9.5 pts before the lock out ended and my book took all the games off the board. That was also before Minnesota acquired McNabb in a trade with Washington.

Hard to imagine how he will do in purple but I'm 100% positive that he will do way better than he did in his one season in Washington.

At least he has a running game now with Peterson. The Vikes are short on recievers at the time of this post so I imagine McNabb will lean heavy on Peterson and his tight ends also. Donovan is going to have to run the offense smoothly and stay as mistake free as possible. He can still pick up some 1st downs with his legs so that will help when needed but he better not do it often.

McNabb played in a dome in college so he should have some fair success in Minny.

Back to this game... The Vikes are going to have to try ball control to slow down any potential San Diego aerial explosions. I expect the Chargers to try and hit some home runs early and often vs a suspect Vikings secondary. I don't see the Vikes being able to run and gun with SD but the lock-out just might provide enough rust on SD to make a win possible if the Vikes can play mistake free football.

My guesstimate is San Diego-27 Minnesota-20

Once again, just like with Favre, the Vikings bring in a high profile primadonna as a PR move to get the fans all excited about their "playoff bound" team. If McNabb's the guy, then why waste your first pick on Christian Ponder? Don't you need someone for McNabb to throw to? You already have a better backup in Joe Webb? Why???? Because by game 4 or 5 when the Vikings are 1-4 or McNabb gets hurt behind that pathetic makeshift O-Line, they'll call it a "rebuilding year" and bring him in.

I knew that the Vikings were done when they traded arguably their best receiver in Sidney Rice 

Hopefully all you fantasy guys have "All Day" on your roster - he should see plenty of action this year.

SD -9 (1u) -   A good running offense vs. poor run defence and a potent passing offense vs. poor passing defense (one man show Jared Allen with Pro Bowl Tackle Kevin Williams on suspension)…Rivers will be lighting up the Viking secondary.   The Viking secondary are shorties compared to the tall Bolt receivers.  I smell a route of epic proportions unless the Viking running game can keep pace, i'm bettin not.  Vikings 21-Chargers 35.

Twin Cities is where Vikes are from.Twin Towers fell 10 years ago. McNabb and Peterson have something to prove.

Ahhh yes, good points there, but - if you add 9 + 11 you get 20, which is the number that San Diego's DB Antoine Cason wears. Vikings don't have anyone wearing #20 - - so, I guess there goes that theory..........

San Diego's only weakness last year was their special teams.  They fixed that issue with the hiring of a new coach and kicking off at the 35 will also benefit them.  Let's see if the #1 offense and #1 defense last year can continue,

Let's also use this day to remember how good the Vikings were about ten years ago. They are horrible, McRibb at quarterback and that god awful draft. I just hope AP goes All Day and stay healthy all year. 8-8 will be hard to come by but at least we play Detroit twice.
