Can't believe this is delayed. What ever happened to football being played in any weather except lightning?

It would be awesome to watch a game with 50 mile per hour winds. What's next, rain delays? NFL is changing and not for the better.

I have a feeling that the NFL cancel the game because fans would have a hard time reaching the game. Transportation delays, accidents, stadium more than empty, cleaning the stadium etc.... I have a feeling that the result of the cancel game was that the NFL was thinking about the FANS and not about how nice it would look in a snow storm. Now I would have to admit if this was a playoff game the game probably would not have been cancel.

Plus if you are a serious NFL fan like we all are there is nothing better than having the chance to watch a football game 3 days in a row. When in the world can you think of the last time this has happen. Not even including the BCS games on Wednesday and Thursday. than BAME New Years EvE and New Years day more BCS games. Then Sunday here faster than you know it.

is their any real motivation for Philly to risk\play thier starters and go lights out with them being division winners?

are they in cruise controll mode for the next two games?

or is their motivation for them to play to the point of crushing the vikings by 2 td?

Waiting for Beted to offer the play here @ 12:30pm EST on Monday. I'll have to take Philly and the dog murderer with the over whenever Beted gets off their ass & posts it.

I agree that there isn't a ton of motivation for Philthydelphia, but they are hot and the Vikes are in coach firing mode.

Forecasters had called for a blizzard to hit during the game and for up to 18 inches of snow to fall in the City of Brotherly Love. But the center of the storm tracked east of the city and by the time the game would have been over, there was only about seven or eight inches on the ground. In those conditions, the game could have been played.

I wonder if there's any chance with the added two days rest that Favre plays.  I know it's just 2 more days, but at the end of an NFL season that's huge.  Just saying, it would help alot with the over.

As for Philly having motivation, this game is BIG.  The difference between a 2 seed and a 3 seed is an extra week of rest...and also needing 2 wins instead of 3 wins to get to the Superbowl.  And at this point of the year all an extra game does is beat your team up more and reduce chances of being full strength.

In Philly's case, there is a STRONG chance if they win this and against Dallas, they will win 2nd seed.  It's VERY possible if not probable that Green Bay will beat Chicago at home next week.  Yes, Chicago will playing for 2 seed, but GB is fighting for their lives and looked great this week in despereation mode.  Bottom line, Philly will give its best effort on Tuesday, no question.

Eagles will have to win this to clinch. They won't only WIN but they gon go to TOWN on these vikings. Newbie Webb QB was drafted as a wide receiver. He may lack command on the field and his inexperience may fault his performance. On the other hand. Michael Vick, aka the beast will come out perform in the LIMELIGHT, as always.

    Go Eagles!

I was gonna go with the Over Sunday night but after watching that BS those 2 most of the time high powered offenses pulled last night indoors, the majority on the high, and going to the self-fade card I'm gonna take a shot with -- UNDER

  • Monday Night Misery: Teams coming off a loss of 17+ points on MNF are 16-34 ATS the following week since 1999.
  •

  • Philly just too much. How can minn possibly get up for this game. They have had roof collapses, played on little league fields, and gotten noreastered to death. Somebody out there is tired of brett favres shenanigans and has cursed the vikes. Brett favre is the dead albatross around minnesotas neck, They will lose! How will minn score at all. Phil and UNd for the delayed game large!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess Philly is still technically playing for that first round bye - even though if the Bears win next week it won't matter.
I know Vegas is trying to bait you into that whole 2 touchdown thing, but I just can't do it. Not with that Joe Webb guy at the helm. Vikings defense is good, but heck, Chicago put 40 on 'em last week on the "road" - I don't see why Philly can't do the same at home. With a hungry "going-to-the-playoffs" Monday (Tuesday) night crowd.

Philly -14 and over 42 - I'm thinking the Vikings might get a field goal or something.

  • I can't see why Philly won't cover in this game.

A good 6pt. teaser would be:

    Philly -8

Over in the NC State game

    Missouri +3 1/2

    153 to win 275

Yes this will be a fun game to route for.  I'm taking the 14.5 point favorite and the over.  I find it unlikely that they don't hit the over unless the Vikings are completely shut out but still I can see the Eagles handling the over by themselves.

Back door cover!!!!.....the public has a short memory, Minn looked pathetic and the eagles pulled a win out of thier ass to knock the giants out of the playoffs.

Philly has to have a emotional let down after last week, and minn cant be as bad as they were last week...that minn defense is ranked in the top ten still after last weeks smashing by the bears.

I think minn covers!!! +14 for me. Especially if peterson is playing.

Good point, but yes.  I can guarantee they are still trying to win the #2 seed.  Atlanta's lose last night opened that door a little wider.  It's still a long shot....but two years ago, Philly had to have three big upsets happen in the final week and beat Dallas to get in the playoffs......and that happened.  I'm sure Andy is pointing that out this week.  Just food for thought.......they will most likely have the pedal down and Minny gave up in the second half of last weeks game and after another shake up in the schedule.......probably can't wait for the next 5 days to be over so they can fly south for warm weather vacations.

how is the game going over 43 if there is so much snow where people can barley walk and now we expect a normal football game.  the conditions are horrible i dont care who is playing.  Reminds me when the steelers played the dolphins a few years back and the rain was so bad that the final score was 3-0. avg yard per play was less than 1.
Plus i dont think they will risk an injury to a team that can make a serious run in the playoffs.

Philly scores quick then plays keep away the rest of the game 14-0. vikings might score towards the end when the game is out of reach 14-7.

if im for any reason right, take the losing team gettting points at halftime.
