This is a tricky one.  Let's see....Miami is coming off a win, but win and they are in.  Jets are coming off a loss and is literallly in a do or die situation.  It's in the cold.

Hmm....I'm thining Jet's -1 and the over.  This like like a game where you might need to hedge.

I don't see any locks this week.  do you?

Love the league sticking it to the Pats here.  The pats need a win earlier in the day and a jets win here.  But by virtue of their win they eliminate the jets who will know if they have a shot by the time they take the field.  If the Pats win at 1:00 i wouldn't be surprised if Mangini called off the dogs, the last thing in the world he wants to do is win Bill Belichek a playoff spot.  Monitor closely, if the Jets still have a chance they're the play, if not Miami it is.

i totally disagree...Jets needs to win regardless. I think Mangini cares about his job more than sticking it to Bill and the Pats.

If Pats win, Jets can earn a wild-card with a win and a Baltimore loss. Baltimore´s game is at the same time so Jets still playing for something

Next to probably winning thier 1st game of the season this is the biggest game for the Dolphins. A lot riding on this game for both teams...

If Miami wins = AFC East champs & a playoff birth.

If Miami lose = No playoffs and go home but with nothing to be ashamed of this season. Great season already for my Dolphins

If Jets win = Magini probably survives another year or so of coaching and possible playoff birth for the Jets.

If Jets lose = Magini will probably need to start looking for a job. Favre will probably retire then un-retire in October 2009. Jets out of playoffs.

I'll be nervous as hell until this game is over.

jets are playing really poor right now, while the dolphins are playing very well.  i love the fact that the line keeps dropping (think it is for the basic reasons i just mentioned).  the same way the meadowlands helped get the giants a huge win, i think the elements + favre/jones will find a way to get the jets a huge home win.

If Miami lose = No playoffs and go home but with nothing to be ashamed of this season. Great season already for my Dolphins GO  PHINS

I dont know what farve is talking it might be his last game didnt sign for two years or am I mistaken? He better watch his pass decisions closely in this one...I expect the jets to win...chad is a candy ass and cost me money last week downing the ball on the 3 yard line of kc with 1:50 to go and fucking my over total so I am not betting this because you never bet with emotion...number one rule of gambling! but if I had to I would take the jets because they look lame right now and all the money is going on miami and this sport is absolutely tinkered with! merry christmas !!

Favre's shoulder is really affecting his play right now. He has thrown 1 TD and 5 picks in his last 3 games, 2 of them losses to bad teams. I can't see the Dolphins missing the playoffs, so I think they get the win here. Books are asking for money on the Jets by moving the line down to -2.5, so take MIA +2.5.

Really like the Fins here. They seem to be on a mission and are meeting the Jets at a good time, while they are looking pathetic. As for cold weather....it didn't stop them from racking up the points in 8 degree weather last week in KC.

I don't buy Mangini throwing the game.. if every schmuck in the world thinks that could happen, then of course it would be on the player's minds as well.. what NFL player would respect a coach who would throw a game because of a grudge?.. Even if it is against the most hated team in the NFL of the last few years..  However.. with Favre under center, he may not have to..  Favre has been playing awful as of late and Pennington has been winning games.. not to mention that he probably wants to stick it to the team who pushed him aside for a 300 year old dinosaur whos biggest contribution has been selling Jerseys.. Had Chad been the QB in NY, at the very least their record would be the same.  The Jets have been good this year because of all the other pre season acquisitions..  Favre was a moot point..  At the end of the day, Favre only cares about himself (anyone remember when he called out Donald Driver for holding out, only to watch him get injured for the year?) and if you don't think he's already wondering if he'll end up after his contract ends you're sadly mistaken..  Miami no matter what..

    New York - 27                         Miami - 13
    Jets -3                under 42
Jets have to hope for a RAVEN loss or a Patriot LOSS.
    Neither may happen.

Nobody is sticking it to anybody and taking a loss for spite.
Jets win this one, they are at home.

I don't think the northern weather will help the Jets here. Pennington is from the North, so is Porter, their most important players. If you go back and look at the Jets past several games, the only thing thats even kept them in games has been getting some turnovers, and the Dolphins have by far the least giveaways in the league.  Favre on the other hand is tossing some serious picks lately.  The cold weather may actually hurt the Jets more because it will increase the pain and tightness in Favre's shoulder.
