Taking Detroit +7 (buying hook) for a SMALL sized play
Jacksonville at Detroit (11/09/2008)

Big difference between setting a line at 6.5 and setting it at 7 or 7.5. Makes me think Vegas wants Jax betters. I'll be on Detroit, but of course it'll have to be less since it's Detroit and they can really suck.

The Jags have one of the better front seven in the NFL, the Lions have a backup center, a quarterback who just got here this week, and very little running game. It's going to get a lot worse in Detroit, believe it or not.
Jags -6.5
Prediction: Jaguars 28 Lions 6

Wait aren't my Bengals the same way? can't stop the run, horrible QB, bad in the trenches... and look what happened last week

Jags have been up/down up/down but now we are in the second half, and it is playoffs or playground. No way they lay an egg against two crappy teams in a row, Lay the 6.5

Hard one to choose but the rest of the games today is just as hard. Nothing real solid but I just feel that Culpepper will need some time to get back into game speed after being out for a while and having limited time to practice for this one.
I remember when my Dolphins expected big things from him only to have him struggle. Besides his knee problems while in Miami I know he had a hard time adjusting to the playbook and calling the right audibles.
The only thing that scares me if this turns out to be playground football for the Lions, meaning that with the receiving corp that the Lions have they may just have Daunte toss the ball long down field and have the speedsters just go out and catch it.
I'm just thinking a slow start for the Lions in the 1st half. This may just comeback to bite me in the a$$ as the Jax has their problems as well....
Jax at the half -4
Aloha and good luck to all

I don't want to hear that!! The Jags lost me some money last week, so I should probably stay away, but if you lose consecutive games to the Bungals and the Lions...you are automatically bumped down to NCAA football

I'm taking the Jags here too, -6.5. An 0-8 team with a 3rd string QB, against a team with a lot of frustration to vent makes for a potent combination.
