The way things are going with these two teams I have to takes the points, sit back, and hope for the best. I feel little to no confidence in thinking about taking the Vikes-10.5 in this spot. The Lions have been and will be a great dog all year in my opinion. The Lions are 4-0-1 ATS in the L-5 games vs Minny as a dog of +10 or greater. In the L-18 meetings overall, the Lions are just 2-16 SU vs the Vikes BUT are 8-8-2 ATS in those games.

Detroit+10.5

My Guesstimate = Minnesota-31 Detroit-23

I'd have to go with the points as well.  With 2 losses and 0 wins, it seems to me a team needs to show they can score and win before you give 10.5.  I thought Dallas would come out and smoke the Bears off a loss and it was more of the same inconsistency and malfunctions as game 1.  Minn to this point hasn't shown they can put up alot of points.  Maybe they will move the ball alot, but will they be consistent enough to score a ton all the sudden?  I know it's Detroit and all, but they don't look horrible and Shaun Hill doesn't make alot of bad mistakes.

Really? Minnesota is laying double digit points... Ha ha ha!

It's like they're giving money away.

people / media have really overreacted to minnesota's 0-2 start.  it's not like they didn't have a chance to win each of those games and it's not like they weren't playing quality competition.  i see everyone grabbing all of those pts with the Lions and then forgetting how they're betting on possibly the biggest LOSER pro sports team ever.  let's remember who the Lions are, have been, and why they continue to suck now.  has anyone looked at their roster?  it's so lackluster, that it's embarrasing.  it's not even a team.  it's like a patchwork of players that other teams gave up on cuzz they knew they just couldn't cut it.  the best thing the Lions have going for them is a rookie RB and with the Vikes being winless and very hungry, i can see them taking out their wrath on those pitiful Lions.  Do you really wanna root for Lions on the road and hope for the best?  Listen:  it's way too early to underestimate Favre & The Vikes.  Let's not forget the old gunslinger has never missed a game in his life or 20 years!!!  And let's not forget AP and how he must be licking his chops for the team's 1st victory as the lousy Lions enter their house.  AP can run circles against their defense and Favre can easily work off the rust on their no name secondary.  I'm serious- look at the Lions roster and you will see what I mean.  I think there are college teams that can beat them down.....

Vikes roll to an easy victory.....minus whatever.

This isn't the Detroit of yester year.  I was actually impressed with how Hill managed the Detroit offense last week.  Minny will be desperate for a win though.  No play for me.  Good luck.

DET +11 I have a feeling the Lions will be beating the spread all season long, at least until the oddsmakers catch up to them. For now, they're still not getting respect. I don't trust Favre, he's playing like a rusty-never-been-to-training-camp-old man; Rice is still out; Percy Harvin is banged up; and the O-line is stinking up the joint. The only bright spot is Adrian Peterson...I'll take the Lions and the points and wait till gametime to pull the trigger in case the line moves a little higher.

I hate to lay this many points with a team that's 0-2....

but I think Minnesota will be too much for Detroit, especially at home...

Shawn Hill and Javid Best were impressive last week....

now for my rhetorical questions

are you really going to take the Lions on the road?

against Adrian Peterson, arguably the best running back in the NFL right now?

are you telling me Brett Farve is not going to bounce back?

if he is, don't you think it will be against the Lions?  A team he has played his whole career?

are the Williams Wall and Jared Allen going to get over-powered by the Lions offensive line?
....................................................

I like the Vikings to win and cover... I have a feeling they are going to get ahead early and keep the foot on the gas pedal.....

in my opinion the Lions are outmatched.... Minn has a good enough corner to cover Calvin Johnson if they game plan against Best, what else do they have to worry about?

Minnesota is desperate.... they can't go 0-3.... and I don't see their defense allowing a backdoor cover like Philly did last week in Detroit...

GL TO ALL...

P.S.  My questions are there to help, not to criticize anyone's post!

VEGAS MADE THIS ONE A LITTLE TO OBVIOUS.  WITHOUT EVEN DOING ANY HOMEWORK I CAN TELL YOU THAT MINNESOTA COVERS THIS SPREAD.  MINN HAS LOOKED LIKE DOGSHIT AND THEY POST THEM AS 11 PT FAVES, COME ON THIS HAS TRAP WRITTEN ALL OVER IT.  ESPECIALLY BECAUSE MINNESOTA IS BOUND TO HAVE A SOLID GAME WITH "ALL DAY" AND FAVRE, AT HOME, WITH A GOOD DEFENSIVE SHOWING.

i put one maybe two 3team 10point teasers in a week and i have been doing pretty good on those since i was 16 and im now 30. shit i didnt even have to work till i was 22 when i finally got a bartending job. so dont say you cant win on teasers. but i do agree with only finding 1 or 2 plays a week and hammer them

you are also right.  i forgot to mention that 2-team teasers can be profitable.  i just hate giving up more $ to make less $ with that sort of payoff, but with the nfl being so hard to figure, you almost have to sometimes.  the other thing that bothers me with teasers is the fact that over 60% of teasers also cover the spread straight up.  and wouldnt u know it, it happened to me opening week when i only managed to hit a 5-team teaser and noticed that if i wouldve parlayed them, then i wouldve got 23-1 odds instead of 5-1 odds.....

I follow the same teaser positive logic.  If you try to make teasers your bread and butter you most likely will end up losing overall.  However, if you pick one big teaser a week or even less frequent you can win effectively.

I usually take my 4 strongest picks and hook them up in a 4-team, 13-point, sweetheart teaser.  You'd be surprised how easy it can be to consistently pick over/unders in the NFL getting 13 points in your favor.  Over the last year or so I's say I've hit 80% or so of these big teasers.

Favre doesn't have to be a stud to cover, AP will have a huge game

a little DET cures all sicknesses

I also love week 3 because historically an 0-2 ATS team almost always covers against a 2-0 ATS team
