    dude,

you clearly do not have big money on this game.  if you do, it's your own damn fault if they lose.  no one in their right mind would be betting big money with juice like that.

    $100 - loses $580
    $1,000 - loses $5,800
    $5,000 - loses $29,000

    even a $50 bettor would lose $290.

i've got the lions plus the points so i'm clearly against you, but if the lions win SU, hopefully you'll learn your lesson.

I am expecting the Lions to win SU now.  I clearly have a bad strategy.

I did not realize that the Bears could not stop the Lions offense.

The money line with Detroit, Kansas City and Cincinnati would have been better I guess.

I lose $300 on this game, that leaves me with $1093.  How do I get the $300 back?

it's only half time, and the bears may still win, but NEVER play ML's with that high of juice.  not as a straight bet.  it's a bankroll killer.

if you're the type of person that plays parlays and throws big ML's in on those, that's one thing.  i personally don't.  i keep ML's to underdogs and MLB.  and when i bet ML's in MLB, i never go over -150.

Yeah it is, I lost $225 on Rams at Redskins too.  I have to learn how to spread bet.

I have done well with College Football, Basketball and Baseball; however, I am behind with Pro Football and Hockey.

I think the 23 points in the second quarter for the Lions is even with their 2nd quarter points for the year.

How did you know to bet the Lions?

double digit favorites in the NFL this season have covered just once up to this point.  the NFL is the toughest sports to bet and be successful with.  vegas and the linesmakers spend a lot of time getting those numbers right in the NFL because it is the most popular sport to bet.  and i'm sure you heard it before, but on any given day, anyone can beat anyone.  especially in the NFL this year.  this is no conference, division, or team that is head and shoulders above the rest (including the titans).  there's no clear cut favorite to make the playoffs, go to the super bowl, etc. as it has been in years past.  the NFL is all about parity and there's examples of it every week.

PERFECT LET DOWN SPOT FOR THE BEARS!

the bears come off the bye week, but have undefeated tennessee coming in next week.

can they get up for this game or will they be looking ahead to next week?

plus, i think the signing of culpepper will put pressure on orlavsky (sp?) to perform and he may have his best day yet.

    play the dog!

Would betting the moneyline on underdogs be winning big this year?

The Bears stopped the Overpowering Detroit offense and then scored a touchdown.  Maybe there is still hope.

i dont think many of the double digit dogs (if any) won straight up.  that record is against the spread.  so playing the ML on them may not have been that profitable either.  just dont get into the habit of playing real big juicy ML's like that.

i think the bears still pull this one out for you, but the lions keep it within 13, so we both win.

I can't see the game either, all I have is the ESPN play by play.  I was not even aware that Orton was out.

Wow, the Bears stopped the Lions passing game again.

    from cbs sportsline.....

    Kyle Orton, QB CHI
News: Bears QB Kyle Orton suffered a leg injury late in the second quarter when a defender tackled him and the leg seemed to bend the wrong way. He had to be carted off the field. He finished 8-of-14 passing for 108 yards. He also ran for a five-yard touchdown.

I am wondering how the Bears can win the game with Grossman in and such a porous pass defense.

I sure wish the Bears could put in one of their cheerleaders as quarterback.

    congrats lions backers!

    premian, you got real lucky!

it's your money and you can wager it on anything you want, but my advice would be to stay away from the ML's because of the juice.  it'll kill the bankroll in the long run.
