Maybe the time has come for the Lions to rise up from the ashes.

Wait to see what the line will be, but the Lions just might be the play when kickoff rolls around.

Calling out Lions favored over Bears at home later in year when these two face each other again.

I highly doubt that the Lions will win this game and especially that they will be favorites at home vs the Bears later in the season however I love the Lions+7 in this spot. If they can improve on thier defense they should stay close with the Bears here.

I am still pissed over a Bears/Lions game in 2006 in which I had Bears-5.5 pts. They blew a nice halftime lead during the 3rd quarter and settled for 3 FG's in the 2nd half to win by only 5 points. Had they won by 6 pts I would have won a $60,000.00 parlay.

YES... That's a $60,000.00 parlay that had 5 dogs on the ML and only the Bears as the lone fav at -5.5 pts.

I will take that lose to eternity and beyond. I had that but it died by the hook.

My guesstimate for this game is Bears-24 Lions-20

Take the bears unless the spread is more then +13. The bears are a much improved team this year, the Lions will still be the worst team in the league.

Yes after further review, it will be asking alot to have the Lions win in Chicago the opening game of the season. Have to go with the Bears today.

    Chicago - 27                                 Detroit - 14

    Bears -6                                     under 43

Just not confident enough to take the Lions on the road in a divisional game.

I really like the Bears here, they are the better team by far, with Urlacher back i mean c'mon man!

Julieus Peppers on the D-line....Staffords gonna be running for his life.

Take a look at Chester Taylors career and I think you see a guy who could easily be a top tier back this year.

I think the bears defense on the line and LB's will be very good but worry a bit about the secondary. And lets remember that the bears are but four years removed from a super bowl appearance.

I know most people think that Cutler sucks, but I think he has the potential to be a good QB. Maybe Martz can teach him to make smarter decisions with the ball. I know Detroit is better this year with alot of the pieces in place but it's gonna be hard to contend with a veteren Bears team in Chicago on week one.

Both of these teams are gonna be very mediocre this year but the Lions are on the way up and the Bears on the way down. I'll take the Lions getting 6 against an aweful Bears team.

DET +6.5 (2units) - I'll side with Stafford over Mike Martz's offensive schemes, Cutler was sacked 9 times in 4 qtrs this preseason, and they'll be facing a D that looked good in preseason, let's see if it carries into regular season.  Are the Lions for real this year or door mats again, i'll take the points at least in game 1. Lions 24-Bears 21

Detroit will turn some heads this year ya'll.  They have a QB with a very strong arm and a year under his belt.  They are a couple years removed from have "fat head" Matt Millen in the front officed screwing up every frickin draft.  The defense is much improved.  They have a dynamic back in the backfield that nobody has seen run yet and a stud receiver.  The Bears have a lot of problems on the line and most importantly, the fans and the media are already all over the coaching staff!!!  The coaches are defending things already and they haven't even played a game!!  Expect the Bears to struggle in the first 4 games this year!!!!  I'll take the points here in what I believe to be one of the better, under the table games in week #1!!!!!!

The Detroit Defense line will reck havoc on the passing game.  If the Bears give Cutler time to throw and run the Martz offensive, Chicago will prevail.  Lions' secondary is very suspect.

But, this will not happen.  Cutler will running all day long, forcing throws.  The Detroit D Line will be the difference in the game.

    Detroit plus the points.......BOL

Have to agree with the makority here, Lions should cover in what looks to be a pretty close game.  The Detroit defensive front is much improved even though the secondary is weak.  Stafford has a RB that will keep defenses from teeing this year.  With his arm and Calvin Johnson at WR they are going to put up more points.  May not win on the road, but wouldn't be surprised.

Taking Lions and the points.    3X play     GL to all.

Lions go 7-9 this year.  Love Best, Megatron and Stafford a young corps that should come through this year.

    Lions +7 and Over 43

Was going to take the Bears in Suicide pool opener, but this game is starting to make me nervous and am thinking about switching to Tennessee over Oakland.  Thoughts anyone. . .

not a big believer in anything good coming from the bears this season.  weak o-line, overrated defense, lance briggs is banged up, plus an irratic qb that throws a ton of picks.  i like det +6.5 and the moneyline in this one.
