What a way to be introduced to the black and blue division, having to QB your first game at Lambeau field. Cutler will find out he's no longer QBing against the Chiefs, Raiders & Chargers.

Good Luck Jay Cutler, an upset win over the Pack certainly won't surprise me.

bears secondary is too bad.  leaning toward the packers.

I like the PACK here. Aaron Rodgers is going to become a star this year. Love every part of his game. I just don't think Cutler has enough weapons to worry this Packers secondary either. If the Pack can stop Forte, they should have no trouble covering this 3 points.

THE COVERS.COM NFL FORUM HANDICAPPING CONTEST

 

Anyone can make a pick. Anyone can post it on a website. If you are wrong, no consequences occur. No one ever knows how well or how poor of a handicapper you are. It’s time to put your money where your mouth is.

 

Well, this season for the first time on this forum, I have decided to run a contest which I will personally fund. A grand prize (details of prize given if you join) will be given at the end of the Super Bowl if you win the contest.

 

How to register:

 

Please send an email to dsong23@gmail.com with your full name and User ID you use to post on Covers.com. Registration will be taken until Sunday 13^th at 12:59PM EST. Since the grand prize is dependent upon the full name given, please do not sign up for more than 1 account or you will regret it when the prize is given.

 

How to play:

 

Every week, every registered user must post on the appropriate Covers.com game thread their NFL picks against the point spread according to the Las Vegas Hilton betting line ONLY. Each player will be required to place a wager on 2 NFL games at minimum EVERY week and 5 NFL games maximum.

 

How to place your wager:

 

Because of the fluctuation in the betting lines during the week, every wager will be assigned the Hilton spread closest to the time where Covers.com updates their line history page. When making a bet, every registered contestant should send an email to dsong23@gmail.com with the heading “Covers.com Contest – (Your User ID)”. All emails which are not addressed with this heading will NOT be accepted. If you do not bet the minimum of 2 games in a week, you will automatically be removed from the contest the following week.

 

For example: NFL Football – Tennessee @ Pittsburgh on Thursday September 10, 2009

 

If a wager was made and sent to me via email at 9/5/09 at 9:00 PM, that user will receive the Pittsburgh -5.5 line rather than the Pittsburgh -5 line. Unfortunately, this is the fairest way to resolve this issue because I will not always view a user’s pick at the moment in which he/she makes the pick.

 

Every bet is made in a single unit bet. Therefore, you cannot make one game you pick more than a single unit.

 

How to win:

 

There will be one (1) grand prize awarded at the end of the Super Bowl for the person who has the highest winning %. No award will be given for the highest number of wins because some users making 5 bets a week will have a greater advantage for this award. However, in case of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the user with the highest number of wins since it is more difficult to have a higher winning percentage picking 5 games a week than 2 games.

Looks like this is gonna be a good game to close out the night with could probably go either way with the QBs in place though Rodgers is more used to his surroundings the only thing worrying me about my pick but then again this is the NFL and those last min FGs come in handy in the win column I'll take a shot with the pts -- BEARS  +4

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers

Defensively speaking, the Packers are quite good and that is a major complication to the Bears offense, because their rushing game will not have a great success against Green Bay defense, so they will have to resort to the passing game and there is where the problems will really start.

 

Bears' defense doesn't scare their opponents like they did in the past and they will face a Packers offense with an excelent QB Rodgers in great shape and I rate him as the best quarterback in the NFC North. Green Bay is very strong on the  passing game thanks to their QB Rodgers and that will be the major factor for a win by 1 Touchdown or more for the Packers, with the added advantage of having the home field with a great crowd supporting them.

Pick: Green Bay Packers -3,5 -111 Unibet

this game is a toss up - not sure either way.  But I do like a lot of points being a primetime game under the lights.. Both QB's have 2-3 TD's and Borth team scores at least 24.

Having a lousy weekend but on the bright side football just started and there are many more weeks to try and get it back.

 

I just have a feeling that Aaron will test the Chicago secondary early....
